Bolling Heights Community With the ending of World War II in 1946 and military servicemen becoming veterans, the world expanded in all directions and the modern phase was in demand.

BOLLING HEIGHTS HISTORY
The time was before jet planes would make routine flights overhead but after major roads were paved and Highways 71, 69 and 169 intersected the southwest corner of Clay County, MO., that farmland was developed into a new lifestyle and called the SUBURBS. The Automobile was becoming the convenient way to travel. Moving to the SUBURBS required good transportation as this was

the only way to travel to work or shopping. Expansion of the Auto Industry was a small instrument in the modern process with hiring young men, as well as supplying that most important new car. In the 1950's the impact for housing was met by men with great expectations and land owners willing to sell acres of farm land. Young families were ready to spread their wings to new surroundings and encouraged to take advantage of the Government GI Loans for Veterans of WWII. A brilliant man in his 50's, came from Fort Scott, Kansas with sons to form the construction Company known as H & I Builders. This was Ira Bolling and sons, Glen L and Howard L. Bolling who developed the first housing area to be called “BOLLING HEIGHTS”. Joan Tierney
