MOPS at Christ Greenfield Church

MOPS at Christ Greenfield Church Welcome to The MomCo (formerly MOPS) at Christ Greenfield Lutheran Church in Gilbert, AZ! Young infants are welcome to stay with mom. Hope is generative.

Motherhood is a beautiful blessing, but it's also messy and just plain hard! Sometimes you need a safe place to sit and breathe and connect with other Christian moms of all ages who not only understand, but can say, "Me too!" We want our group to be YOUR place to share your faith, worries and fears, joys and triumphs, failures and messy moments. Each meeting is planned to allow you to refresh spi

ritually, mentally, and even physically. A typical meeting takes place twice a month on Fridays from 9am to 11am and consists of a potluck style breakfast, a speaker or video and time for discussion. Childcare is available during the meeting to allow you to be present as much as possible. We are also equipped with Mentor Moms who have been through this season of life and beyond, providing a voice of experience, guidance, and at times, a source of comic relief. Our theme for this 2024-2025 year is Wild Hope!

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life."- Proverbs 13:12

Do you ever feel like your pilot light has gone out? Like the spark that once fueled your passion, clarity, and energy has been dimmed under the mental load of motherhood? Perhaps it’s the need to make 1 million decisions a day (so many decisions!) that causes you to never really feel confident you’re doing it right. Maybe you are in a season where you feel you are not showing up well for yourself or others; just going through the motions, trying to get to the end of the week. That is about to change because we’re declaring this the year of new things. A new season needs a new strategy, and we choose wild, contagious hope. Hope is not a passive exercise in wishing; it’s an active approach to living life engaged. Hope provides clarity, vision and vitality. Looking at the adversity and division that seems to be seeping into the fabric of our culture, hope offers another option – the opportunity to see new paths and ways of living that we might not have considered before. It reminds us that we can make a positive difference in our families and communities and that tough times will not paralyze us. Hope requires courage and trust because to see the new thing God is doing likely means going into the wilds – paths that take us through uncomfortable places and challenges that nourish our deepest longing. God is doing something new, and we can get our hopes up. It’s time for WILD HOPE in God! You're invited to join our mom community and grow your faith at Christ Greenfield Lutheran Church!

Throwback to that heart-skipping moment when you first learned the title 'Mom' was on its way to you. Can you imagine telling her all the stories she’ll live, the tiny socks she’ll fold, the midnight lullabies she'll hum in a whisper? 🎶✨

That girl with the positive test and a million dreams fluttering in her heart—she had no clue, did she? About the strength she'd muster, the depths of love she'd feel, or the endless hats she'd wear (chef, chauffeur, nurse, negotiator, the list goes on...). Yet here you are, doing it all and then some.

Trust us, she would be more than proud; she'd be in awe of you. Because every day, you're not just meeting those dreams; you're surpassing them in ways big and small.

So here's a gentle reminder from one mom to another: you are absolutely rocking this mom journey, even on days when you feel like you're not.

Mom Grace, not mom guilt. 🌟☕ Because, let’s be real, the guilt can sneak up on us like lost legos on the living room floor - unexpected and oh-so-painful. But here’s the beautiful flip side: grace. Grace is our reminder that we’re doing our best in a world that sometimes feels like it’s set to “expert mode” without giving us the instructions.

Remember that time you let them have cereal for dinner because you just couldn’t muster up the energy to cook? Or that moment you chose an extra 30 minutes of sleep over laundry? That’s grace, mama. It’s the gentle understanding that you are human, beautifully and wonderfully made, rolling with the tidal waves of motherhood.

Let’s swap out that heavy cloak of guilt for a light, shimmering shawl of grace. Wrap it around your shoulders. Feel its warmth. This journey is wild, wonderful, and sometimes wearying, but you are navigating it with all the love, courage, and grace in the world. 💖✨

Here’s to less guilt and more grace. To more laughing over spilled milk and cereal dinners. To more embracing the real life around us than wishing for the one in our heads.

Remember, it's totally okay to have those days where motherhood feels more like a puzzle with missing pieces than a picture-perfect postcard. We all have them, and it doesn’t make you any less of a mother. Embrace the struggle, lean on your tribe, and know that every little bump is just part of this story God is creating for you and through you.

Did you have one of those darling little kindergartners waving at you from stage in a cap and gown this year? 🎓

Or maybe your graduate was a little bigger and he made you an empty nester with that proud wave from stage. 🧑‍🎓

The whirlwind of May with all its milestones and celebrations has passed, and now we’re all trying to rally for a new summer season.

Moms often get left behind to tidy up, hold the memories and marvel at how fast time flies. Then we wake up the next day and start from scratch to prepare for the next big thing.

This time, let’s just roll right into summer with that same nostalgic vibe that makes everything feel special.

From the hot lazy afternoons at the pool to that epic vacation you’ve been planning for years, let’s find the sacred in every summer day.

So put your dancing shoes back on and spread the word that the after-party is at your place. ☀️
