About the GGHF EnviroCorps program:

With the passing of its founder, Vernon Young, EnviroCorps moved to become part of the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation to help assure a permanent legacy of support for initiatives that improve our parks, trails and open space resources, promote environmental awareness and stewardship, and engage our greater peninsula communities in the protection of our natural r

esources. EnviroCorps road and trail programs (Adopt-A-Road and Sponsor-A-Trail) provide volunteer opportunities to help maintain publicly accessible community lands, parks, trails and roads, as safe and pleasant places by actively engaging our community in caring for and maintaining these resources.. The Greater Gig Harbor Foundation (GGHF) a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Section 509 (a)(2) public charity serving the greater Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula communities is a young, dynamic community foundation. The Foundation works collaboratively to build, bridge and enrich our greater peninsula region by raising funding, advocating for and providing support to help meet diverse community needs in five core areas – arts & culture, education, parks & environment, recreation and social capital – which are all essential to sustaining vibrant healthy communities across our peninsulas.

Today, communities across Washington are coming together through WA Gives to support the places and people that matter most to them.

Here at home, that support looks like scholarships for local students, outdoor learning for children, connection and care for seniors, stewardship of the natural places we all share, and neighbors continuing to show up for one another year after year.

In uncertain times, strengthening local community may be one of the most meaningful things we can still do together.

While we may not be able to fix everything, we can still make a real difference close to home.

This is what community looks like.

Hi EnviroCorps friends everywhere. What a fantastic time to think about supporting EnviroCorps, during the Give Big event.

And we’re off and running! Today is the start of Early Giving! It’s up to us to support the nonprofits that make communities across Washington flourish. Help these organizations build positive momentum ahead of the main giving day on May 5 by donating now and encouraging your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to also give.

to show up for nonprofits. Whether you give a little or a lot, every gift creates BIG change!

We had a great turnout this past Saturday, January 24th at Joemma Beach State Park on the Key Peninsula. We picked up some standard litter, but as you can see by load in the Washington State Park dump truck, our main focus was treated lumber. We worked the entire beach to the left an right of the boat launch and removed everything that we could find. Big thanks to all of our volunteers!
