The Foundation's vision is to sustain the City of Germantown's commitment to excellence in providing a top-quality education for all of its students with highly qualified teachers who have the necessary academic tools and facilities to succeed. GEF believes education is an essential ingredient to ensure Germantown continues to prosper with an excellent quality of life that in addition to a State of Tennessee leading public school system, includes civic-minded leadership, high-level representatives of community businesses, solid property values, and strong economic growth. What a way to kick off a new school year! 🎉

The Germantown Education Foundation was proud to join GMSD for the annual Kick Off on July 31, celebrating the incredible teachers and staff who make a difference for our students every day.

As part of the celebration, teachers had the opportunity to compete for a $2,500 prize and congratulations are in order for Jillian Atlas, a gifted teacher at Farmington Elementary, who came out on top!

Congratulations, Jillian, and best wishes to all of GMSD’s teachers and staff for a fantastic school year! We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish!

A heartfelt thank you to the Forest Hill Farmers and the talented members of the Germantown Garden Club for creating 30 beautiful floral centerpieces that helped make this year's Summer Soirée so special.

✨ What a night!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Summer Soirée on Saturday. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our guests, sponsors and donors, the evening raised an estimated $50,000 to support innovative opportunities for students and teachers throughout Germantown Municipal School District.

From exciting auction items and delicious food to music, dancing and unforgettable memories, it was a wonderful evening of celebrating our schools and community. Thank you for making a difference!

What started as an idea to better serve students has become a lasting addition to Houston Middle School.

Earlier this year, Specialized Instruction Teacher Alissa Betchick received the first-ever Germantown Education Foundation Transformative Grant, recognizing an initiative that creates lasting change for students, strengthens our schools and leaves a legacy for the Germantown community.

Her vision was to add a swing set for students in the Mustang Moves program, providing therapeutic movement that supports sensory regulation, builds core strength and helps students stay focused.

Bringing that vision to life took a true team effort. The City of Germantown Public Works crew helped unload the swing set equipment by loaning a skid steer when it arrived on campus. Then, last week, Houston Middle School football players volunteered their time to install the playground border and spread the mulch around the new play area.

This project is a wonderful example of what happens when educators, City staff, students and our community come together to make a meaningful difference. Thank you to everyone who played a part in creating this special space for Houston Middle School students!
