A bomb threat was called in for the Family Court building.
DSP Cpl. Randy Ramirez, his bomb dog "Bubba" and Georgetown PD Lt. John Davis are clearing the building.

Nice picture of Farmers Bank on the Public Square. Look at the driveway to the right of the building and the old parking meter.

TouchBack Tuesday in Georgetown's History.....
Exchequer Inn on Race street, after that is was the Georgetown Inn for a short time. In 1974 Sussex County bought it from Judge Thompson for much needed extra space.
What was it before the Exchequer Inn?

Timeline...1962
The State Budget Commission upon urging of the Archives Commission purchased the Olan Johnson print shop. This was the first Courthouse in Georgetown and was moved to South Bedford street to make way for the construction of the present courthouse in 1837.It was renovated in 1975-76 and dedicated on Return Day 1976!

TouchBack Tuesday in Georgetown's History.....
Great postcard of the Eagle Hotel in the Southeast corner of the Public Square. You can just see on the right the Cullen house on the corner of South Bedford street.
Both buildings were built in 1807 and were torn down in 1931 to build the Post Office which is now where the Sussex County building is today!
