Come and enjoy food and fellowship during October's Good Eats and Literary Treats Events. This program is hosted by Stewart County Family Connection and Stewart County Extension, and is for anyone who has children birth-12th grade. During each event you will get to make a new recipe in our teaching kitchen, receive a children's book with activities to take home, and have open discussions about important topics related to children and families in today's society. 😋📔❤️
Each event is located at the Wims Community Center and will be from 6:00-8:30 pm. Childcare can be provided in the play and game rooms at the Wims Center if needed.
On October 2nd we will be making appetizers and on October 16th we will make different types of salads.
For us to arrange supplies and childcare, please register by September 24.

Thank you to everyone who made the Barbour County Groundwater Festival possible for all of the area's 4th graders. They were so kind to include our Quitman County 4th grade and they had a blast. We all had fun learning about where our water comes from and why it is so important to conserve it. Thanks again for a great field trip!

Register your child today for Quitman County's Kolomoki Indian Shelter STEM Challenge at Kolomoki Mounds State Park on May 28th. They will have a fun day full of learning about the Kolomoki Indians and then testing their knowledge and skills by building miniature shelters similar to the dwellings of the Kolomoki. We will leave from the Quitman County Office by 9:00 and return around 2:30. The cost is $5 and they will need to bring a sack lunch. There are only 10 spots available so register asap by calling 229-334-4303 or emailing [email protected]

April was another fun filled month for Quitman County 4-H. We celebrated our project achievement participants, learned during our science class and after-school meetings, and hunted Easter Eggs in the dark! We will continue to meet for science and S.O.A.R. for a few more weeks but will soon have our winning students end of the year party🎉. Be sure to register your child for the Kolomoki Mounds STEM Day on May 28! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL May😊

Quitman County 4-H had a busy March with the Bike-a-thon, science classes, afterschool program, and Cloverleaf Project Achievement, but it sure was FUN! April slows down a little bit due to Spring Break and testing but we still have our normal meetings. You can check out what happened in March and what is in store for April in our Newsletter. Don't forget to order your onions, the sale ends April 24th!

Happy April 4th! Why is today so special? It is a day of giving for Georgia 4-H! The Georgia 4-H Foundation created a wonderful and easy way to support your local 4-H on a day that is all about 4! Today, 4-4, you can donate $4 (or more) to Quitman County 4-H. Your donation will go toward building positive youth development opportunities for the youth in Quitman County.
