Geneseo FFA members had a great time serving pork chops at the Geneseo Music Festival this weekend! Our officers also helped with the Dean Olson Memorial Pedal Pull.

We are hosting our annual Pork Chops in the Park on Saturday, June 20th at the City Park pavilion. We start serving at 11:00 am. All the proceeds go to support our Geneseo FFA!!

We are so proud of our seniors, Dawsyn McDonald & Peyton Kies for receiving their State FFA Degrees this week!!

The Illinois FFA Association State FFA Degree is the highest degree an Illinois FFA member can earn while still in high school. It recognizes students who have demonstrated success in their SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience), leadership development, community service, and FFA participation.

Brief Overview of Illinois State FFA Degree Requirements

Students must:

* Have already earned the Chapter FFA Degree.
* Be an active FFA member for at least 24 months.
* Complete at least 360 hours (two years) of agricultural education instruction.
* Maintain an active SAE and either:
* Earn and invest at least $1,000, or
* Work at least 300 hours outside of class, or
* Have a combination of earnings and hours.

Students must demonstrate leadership by:

* Performing 10 parliamentary procedure skills.
* Presenting a six-minute speech related to agriculture or FFA.
* Serving as a chapter officer, committee chair, or active committee member.

Students must:

* Have a satisfactory academic record.
* Participate in planning and carrying out the chapter Program of Activities.
* Participate in at least five FFA activities above the chapter level (section, district, state, etc.).
* Complete at least 25 hours of community service across two or more service activities.

In Illinois, the State FFA Degree is awarded to a small percentage of members each year and is considered a significant achievement that demonstrates excellence in leadership, SAE development, and agricultural education.

DEAN OLSON MEMORIAL PEDAL TRACTOR PULL
SATURDAY JUNE 20, 2026
Sign up @ 11:30am, Event starts @ 12:30pm

Join the family fun at the Geneseo City Park on Saturday June 20! The Geneseo FFA and Alumni will be hosting its annual Father's Day Porkchop Cookout from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the City Park Shelter.

Nearby on Pearl Street, the Dean Olson Memorial Pedal Tractor Pull starts at 12:30pm. Sign up starts at 11:30am, and there are three age groups - 5-6, 7-8, & 9-10. Three trophies per class will be awarded, donated by the Clements Family Farm.

Coupled with the Geneseo Farmer's Market, AETA Tractor Display, Free Pony Rides from TriCo Equestrian Center LLC and the Party on the Patio at In A Godda Da Vida Music, all happening at or near the Geneseo City Park, the Saturday of Father's Day weekend is shaping up to be a great time in Geneseo for the whole family!
