📣 Help our Ag Business students!

Our Ag Business students are conducting market research for potential/hypothetical business start-ups and need your input! They are looking at what products/services our community needs and whether there is an opportunity for a new business.

The surveys are in the comments - if you have a few minutes, please consider filling out a few to help our students with their projects!

Thank you for supporting our students! 🌱

This week, three of our members—Ella Schaaf, Henry Dwyer, and Lydia Carton—traveled to Monticello, IL, to attend FFA Camp! It was an incredible week filled with new friendships, leadership development, friendly competition, and unforgettable memories. Our members had the opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence, and connect with FFA members from across the state.

We are especially grateful to the Illinois FFA Alumni for providing camp scholarships to two of our members, making this opportunity possible. Thank you for investing in the growth and leadership of our students!

One member Jacey Gehl had the amazing opportunity to represent our chapter on the 2026 Illinois FFA Premier Chapter Award Tour in Washington, DC! Along with other FFA members from across Illinois, she spent six days exploring our nation's capital, learning from the leadership of many important historical figures, and making new friends from chapters all over the state with the help of long (but fun) bus rides.

During the trip, the group visited some of our country's most iconic landmarks, including the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Washington Monument, and George Washington's home at Mount Vernon. They also spent a day at Gettysburg, where they learned about one of the most important battles of the Civil War. The group visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, which provided a powerful opportunity to learn about the Holocaust and reflect on the importance of remembering the past. They also explored several Smithsonian museums, where they learned all about everything from American history to dinosaurs and space! Throughout the week, they visited several memorials, including the World War II, Vietnam Veterans, Korean War Veterans, Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorials, taking time to reflect on the sacrifices and stories behind each one.

Thank you to the Youth Education in Agriculture Committee and Illinois Farm Bureau for the opportunity to go on this fantastic trip!

In the month of June, members Jackson Frank and Annabelle Betcher had the opportunity to attend Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. hosted by the National FFA Organization.

Throughout the week they were able to build meaningful connections with other passionate members from around the nation, explore our country’s history, and spend time developing leadership skills in sessions led by National FFA staff. Each attendee spent time developing Living to Serve Plans, and wrapped up the week working alongside each other to pack oatmeal for Meals of Hope.

Some highlights they shared were…

🏛️Exploring Mt. Vernon with Illinois FFA (there was a bald eagle) 🦅
🏛️Visits to Arlington National Cemetery where they watched the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
🏛️Making connections with countless new people!
🏛️Soaking up the rich history of this nation at the National Mall, and the Smithsonians.
🏛️Touring the Capitol building in Official Dress.

Huge thank you to Illinois FFA and National FFA for giving these kids this amazing opportunity, as well as Illinois FFA Alumni and Geneseo FFA Alumni for providing scholarships that enabled Jackson and Annabelle to attend!
