The August library quilt feature is “4-H Summer Fun at the Fair”, pieced and quilted by Charlotte Powell of Geneseo, Illinois. Pattern is 4-H at the Fair, a panel by Riley Blake fabrics, this quilt embodies the peak time of year when 4-H projects are judged at the fair. What an awesome display of how 4-H is a family affair of dedication, hard work, service knowledge and loyalty for the sense of community, country and world.

Please join us Tuesday, August 11th, at 6 PM for a potluck, bring a salad or dessert to pass. Iced tea and lemonade will be furnished. Potluck and Quilt Guild Meeting will be at the Concordia Lutheran Church.

Following the potluck, we will have speakers Kathy Jarvis, Charlotte Powell, and Lena Rayburn. They will be sharing their long arm stories and how they evolved into successful businesses.

To close out the evening we will be playing quilters bingo, which will include prizes. This is going to be an evening of fun you won’t want to miss! See you soon!

The Geneseo Quilt Gallery can be found in the Upper Mezzanine of the Smith Studio and Gallery in downtown Geneseo. What a beautiful display!!Thank you David Smith!

Now on exhibit at the Geneseo Quilt Gallery is the second seasonal show of quilts made by members of the Geneseo Quilt Guild.

The July Library quilt feature is “Dragonfly Dreams,” an award-winning showstopper pieced by Gay Hull and custom-quilted by Cathy Jarvis of Coal Valley, Il. Designed by Lisa Bonegean of Primitive Gatherings in Wisconsin, this stunning quilt was inspired by vibrant flowers, and garden creatures. It showcases over 20 distinct embroidery stitches, and 49 hand-appliquéd wool designs. You must see this masterpiece in person to truly appreciate the intricate detail work.

Please join us on Tuesday, July 14 for our July Guild meeting. 7 PM at the Concordia Lutheran Church. Shelley Moore will be the program speaker and she will be presenting “Customs Not Required: Next Level E2E (pantograph) to Create Magical Quilts.” Shelley will discuss how this applies to both long arm and piecing. Everyone will be able to apply some of Shelly‘s techniques to process their projects.
