The members of the Coryell City-Osage Volunteer Fire Department extend our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters in Odessa following the loss of one of their own.

Today, the fire service family mourns alongside you. LIEUTENANT ISAI HUERTA answered the call to serve others with courage, dedication, and selflessness, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the entire Odessa fire department during this difficult time. May you find strength in one another and comfort in the memories of a life devoted to serving others.

Rest easy, Brother. Your watch is over. We will take it from here.

Today we had the opportunity to join Turnersville VFD for pump testing, another example of departments working together to build a stronger emergency response for our communities.

A special thank you to our Chief. Even after a long day, he was still under the truck and under the hood making sure our equipment was ready and fully capable of serving our communities..

Training nights aren’t always about fighting fires. This week, our members spent time going over the tools and equipment we use on emergency scenes, focusing on tool proficiency, proper placement, and making sure everyone knows exactly where equipment is located on our apparatus. The more familiar our firefighters are with the tools they use and where those tools are located, the faster and more efficiently we can operate when someone calls for help.

These may seem like simple tasks, but they’re the foundation of a well-trained department. Taking the time to sharpen our skills and reinforce good habits helps ensure we’re ready when the community needs us most. Every hour spent learning and practicing makes us better prepared to serve remember that.

🚒 Exciting things are coming in the weeks ahead for our department!.

We will be conducting specialized vehicle training, focusing on patient access, scene safety, and rescue operations involving motor vehicle incidents. This type of realistic, hands-on education helps prepare our firefighters and first responders for real-world emergencies.

To wrap up the month, we will be hosting a large-scale Search and Rescue exercise involving both a missing child and an adult patient lost in a wooded area. This scenario-based training will challenge our members to utilize search techniques, communication, teamwork, and rescue operations in a realistic environment.

We are proud of the dedication our volunteers continue to show through their commitment to training and serving our community. Every hour spent training helps us become better prepared to answer the call when it matters most.

Today was another reminder of why mutual aid and strong relationships between departments matter so much.

A huge thank you to Gatesville Volunteer Fire Department, Turnersville Fire Department, and Oglesby Fire Department for coming out and assisting Coryell City/Osage Volunteer Fire Department on the grass fire on County Road 272 today. We are beyond grateful for the teamwork, quick response, and dedication shown by every firefighter on scene.

Departments that train together, work together. Building those strong relationships before the emergency happens is what allows us to operate safely, efficiently, and effectively when our communities need us most. When the tones drop, it’s not about one department — it’s about all of us coming together with one mission: protecting lives, property, and our communities.

We also want to give a special shoutout to our new rookies who got to fight their very first fire together today. There’s no better way to learn this job than standing side by side with your brothers and sisters in the fire service. We are proud of each of you and excited to watch you grow.

What an incredible day at the Coryell City Osage Volunteer Fire Department. ❤️🚒

We want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who came out, supported, donated, laughed, ate BBQ, played corn hole, bid in the silent auction, and spent time with us at our event. Because of YOU, it turned out absolutely amazing.

As volunteer firefighters, we don’t do this for recognition. We do it because this community is home. You are our friends, our neighbors, our family — and protecting your lives, homes, land, and property is the reason we answer every call, day or night.

Seeing the community come together the way it did reminds us why we love serving the communities within the county, Coryell City and Osage. Your support means more than words can ever express. Every handshake, smile, conversation, and kind word fuels the heart behind this department.

Thank you for believing in us, standing behind us, and allowing us the honor of serving such an amazing community. We are truly blessed to protect the people we care about most.

Hello everyone, we invite you to bring your children to the Boys and Girls Club, where they will be hosting a kids' day event. Coryell City Osage Volunteer Fire department will be bringing a brush truck for kids to get wet. Additionally, EMS and military vehicles will also be showcased. We look forward to seeing you all there.
