The City of Garden Grove is seeking input from businesses affected by the recent chemical emergency and evacuation orders related to the methyl methacrylate (MMA) tank incident.

This survey is intended to assess the operational and financial impacts on local businesses and help the City identify recovery needs, coordinate support services, and evaluate potential assistance resources.

If your business experienced disruptions due to the evacuation or related emergency conditions, we encourage you to participate.

From the very beginning, my priority has been making sure the residents, workers, and businesses impacted by the chemical incident receive the support they need to recover.

Let me be clear, GKN must be held accountable and I will not stop until everyone that has been impacted by this incident is made whole.

Today’s announcement that GKN will contribute 3 million dollars to the United Way Community Resilience Fund is a start, but we know that is NOT NEARLY ENOUGH.

To the community members who spoke up, shared their experiences, and advocated for the resources our community deserves, I hear you and I thank you. We will continue to push GKN to face the community!

We know recovery is about more than just dollars and cents. Families have faced unexpected expenses, businesses have experienced disruptions and losses, and many residents are still living with unanswered questions and ongoing challenges.

There is still work to do, and I will continue advocating for the resources, accountability, and support needed to help our community move forward.

Our residents have shown incredible resilience throughout this difficult time. As we continue this recovery process, it is important that we stand together and ensure no one affected by this incident is left behind.

Our Morning Connect last Thursday was a great opportunity to learn more about Coastline College’s PACE+ program. We also enjoyed hearing from our Member Spotlight presenters, Thomas House Family Shelter and CACS ATM & Merchant Services.

If you missed it, we hope to see you at our next month!
