A New Chapter. Welcome to World Relief California.

Today, World Relief is bringing together its four California offices in Sacramento, Modesto, Garden Grove, and San Diego, as one coordinated regional team.

For nearly five decades, World Relief has been serving refugees and immigrants across California. This next chapter builds on that foundation by bringing our offices closer together, strengthening shared resources and expertise, and creating greater capacity to respond to the needs of the communities we serve.

Four strong local offices. One coordinated California region. Greater collective impact.

While our structure is changing, our commitment remains the same: staying deeply rooted in our local communities and working alongside churches, partners and neighbors so refugees and immigrants can pursue stability, opportunity and belonging.

We’re grateful for the relationships that have shaped this work and excited for what we can accomplish together in the years ahead.

New ruling could change your travel plans if you have DACA, TPS, or a pending green card/asylum case.

As of August 13, 2026, traveling on advance parole no longer protects you from the 3- and 10-year re-entry bars. If you've had 180+ days of unlawful presence — at any point, before your current status — leaving the U.S. now carries real risk.
The good news: time protected under DACA, TPS, or time spent here before age 18 does NOT count as unlawful presence. But your specific timeline matters, and getting it wrong could mean years locked out of the U.S.

🚨 REMINDER: Public Charge rules change TODAY (Sept 18) 🚨

The 2022 public charge rule has been rescinded, not replaced. Starting today, USCIS moves to a "totality of circumstances" approach, meaning officers can weigh a wider range of public benefits (not just cash aid) when reviewing green card applications.

📋 Applies to: I-485 applications filed on or after Sept 18
✅ Not affected: U.S. citizens, most green card holders, asylees, refugees, U/T visa holders, and VAWA applicants
