We're here to help. Come join us at the end of this month to begin your DACA Renewal and Work Permit application. Our services are free for California residents - you'll only need to cover the $555 filing fee. Start early so there's no interruption to your work authorization!

Citizenship shouldn't be priced out of reach. DHS is proposing to raise the N-400 naturalization fee by up to 80% — from $760 to $1,330 for paper filings - while eliminating the reduced fee option and fee waivers that make the process possible for low-income families. Only active/former service members would remain exempt.

The public comment period closes August 24, 2026. If you believe this rule would create real hardship for immigrants and their families, now is the time to say so.

We're recruiting volunteers to join our Immigration Legal Services (ILS) team in San Diego for our upcoming Fall session! You'll work alongside our attorneys and practitioners, helping community members across San Diego and Orange County navigate the immigration system with dignity, clarity, and hope.

We're looking for someone who can:
🕒 Commit 12–20 hours/week, 2–3 days a week
📅 Serve for a minimum of 4 months
⚖️ Bring some experience in immigration law
🗣️ Speak Spanish, Dari, and/or Pashto (a plus!)
💛 Share our mission to serve immigrants and refugees with compassion

GOOD NEWS for TPS holders from El Salvador, Ukraine & Sudan

A federal court just granted an emergency stay blocking the retroactive application of EAD expiration deadlines. That means: if your EAD was already extended, it keeps its original expiration date - it does NOT expire today, July 22.

This is a big relief for TPS beneficiaries from El Salvador, Ukraine, and Sudan who have timely-filed, pending re-registrations and EAD renewal applications. Your work authorization is protected while this order stands.

Se viene un gran cambio en las reglas de carga pública.

A partir del 18 de septiembre de 2026, la regla actual de carga pública de 2022 será revocada — y las solicitudes de residencia permanente (I-485) presentadas en esa fecha o después serán evaluadas bajo el estándar anterior, más amplio.
La buena noticia: la carga pública sigue SIN aplicar a los ciudadanos estadounidenses, a la mayoría de los residentes permanentes, a los asilados, refugiados, y a los solicitantes de visas U/T o VAWA.

Si está planeando solicitar la residencia permanente, este es el momento de hablar con un abogado de confianza o un Representante Acreditado por el Departamento de Justicia.

Big change is coming to public charge rules.

Starting September 18, 2026, the current 2022 public charge rule will be rescinded — and green card applications (I-485) filed on or after that date will be reviewed under the older, broader standard.

The good news: public charge still does NOT apply to U.S. citizens, most green card holders, asylees, refugees, and U/T visa or VAWA applicants.
If you're planning to apply for a green card, now is the time to talk to a trusted attorney or DOJ Accredited Rep.
