πŸ’™πŸŽ‰ It takes a community to build a healthier and safer Finney County! πŸŽ‰πŸ’™

This is just a snapshot of some of the amazing organizations that helped make last week’s Health & Safety Fair such a tremendous success. From health education and injury prevention to community resources and family fun, Finney County partners came together with a shared goal: promoting the health, safety, and well-being of everyone in our community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many community members and work alongside organizations that are passionate about making Finney County an even better place to live, work, and play.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and attended. Together, we are making a difference! πŸ’ͺ❀️

In observance of Juneteenth, the LiveWell Finney County office will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on freedom, equality, and the ongoing pursuit of justice for all.

We will resume normal business hours on Monday, June 22.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Juneteenth holiday! β€οΈπŸ–€πŸ’š

We had an absolutely WHEEL-y great time at the Finney County Health and Safety Fair on Saturday, June 13th! πŸ₯³ As part of our fantastic Safe Routes to School initiative, we held a super fun Bike Rodeo and a helmet distribution! πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš²

And the best part? We handed out a whopping 114 bike helmets to keep our amazing community members safe and sound while they're out and about! πŸ™Œ It was so wonderful to see so many smiling faces gearing up for safe adventures. Let's keep those pedals spinning and those heads protected! πŸ’–

🍼✨ What an incredible day for breastfeeding support in Southwest Kansas! ✨🍼

Last week, the Finney County Local Health Engagement Action Team (LHEAT) partnered with the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition Inc. and our Community Breastfeeding Coalition-CBC to bring a Hospital Lactation Skills Training to CommonSpirit Health St. Catherine Hospital.

Healthcare professionals from across the region spent the day building hands-on skills, learning best practices, and strengthening their ability to support breastfeeding families when they need it most. πŸ’™

By investing in education and training, we’re helping create a stronger network of support for parents and babies throughout Southwest Kansas. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this training a success!

🀠🚲 Yeehaw! What a great day at the Finney County Health & Safety Fair Bike Rodeo! 🚲🀠

Thanks to the hard work of our partners, the Finney County Safe Kids was able to provide more than 100 bicycle helmets to local children, helping keep young riders safe while they enjoy all the fun that summer has to offer.

A huge thank you to the Garden City Police Department and all of the organizations, volunteers, and community partners who helped make this event a success. Your commitment to keeping kids safe makes a real difference!

Here’s to safe rides, healthy families, and a community that always comes together for our children! πŸ’™πŸ§‘

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ’™ Finney County is on the move!

Did you know our trail counters recorded nearly 9,000 visits on Talley Trail and Pioneer Trail during May? That’s thousands of opportunities for our community to get outside, be active, and enjoy the benefits of movement.

June is also Men’s Health Month, a great reminder to schedule those checkups, stay active, and make your health a priority.

And don’t forgetβ€”beginning July 1, kratom and 7-OH will become illegal in Kansas. We’re helping share information so our community can stay informed and healthy.

πŸ“πŸ’§ Hydration Station is Back! πŸ’§πŸ‹

A big shout-out to Chef Daniel and our partners at St. Catherine Hospital for bringing back FREE fruit-infused water in the hospital cafeteria!

Staying hydrated is one of the easiest ways to support your health, especially during the hot summer months. Drinking enough water can help boost energy, support concentration, regulate body temperature, and keep your body feeling its best.

Next time you’re at the hospital, stop by and enjoy a refreshing glass of fruit-infused water. Thank you, Chef Daniel, for helping make the healthy choice the easy choice! πŸ“πŸŠπŸ₯’πŸ’™
