Austin Costello is a puppet artist from right here on Long Island. He has studied at The National Puppetry Conference and has a BFA from The University of Connecticut’s legendary Puppet Arts Program. He has gone on to work for The Jim Henson Company, Sesame Street, and he is the Resident Puppet Artist at Long Island Children’s Museum Theater. Austin co-runs this slam with Liz, and has learned at the feet of many of the people who have made this slam possible.

Artie Poore. A man of many talents, A lifelong puppeteer - Mr. Poore has been Director of Dreamlike Puppet Company since 1989, and is an award winning surrealist painter. Artie is also an accomplished vocalist, animator, film-maker, sculptor, musician, and gadgeteer. In addition to his artistic and creative work, Mr. Poore is a retired 23 year veteran of the New York City Fire Department through the 9/11 rescue and recovery efforts.

PINNED & SEWTURED/ANATAR MARMOL-GAGNE Director, designer and puppet theatre artist is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Puppet Arts from the University of Connecticut, and a BA in English/ Creative Writing from Hunter College. Her strong background in art, dance, writing, fiber and fabrication all come together seamlessly with her love for puppetry. She has trained at the National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, designed puppets for The Dramatic Question Theater, Yale, Hartford Symphony, Boston Pops, performed in slams all over the country, and has toured her full length show “Calle Allende”. Her work has also been featured in multiple art shows and solo shows and was the Artist in residence at Artspace in 2019. She is currently the Workshop Chair for the 2023 Puppeteers of America National Puppet Festival: New in 2023 - workshops in Español! She is the recipient of a Jim Henson Workshop grant for her new production “Sueños”, an autobiographical show about how trauma makes you hilarious, which will premier in 2024. She is the founder and curator of The Pinned & Sewtured Puppet Cabaret. www.pinnedandsewtured.com
