At our recent Community & Back-to-School Wellness Event, our healthcare team members were on hand to provide health screenings and distributed important health and wellness materials, including magnets with critical stroke awareness information.

Every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a stroke - an alarming fact. We are committed to raising stroke awareness and reminding people that B.E.F.A.S.T. is crucial for spotting the signs of a stroke, and taking early and quick action increases recovery and survival.

The day was filled with sunshine and smiles! Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers and attendees for making ICARE & EHS's 9th Annual Community & Back-to-School Wellness event a success! Hosted in EHS's Clinical Learning Center parking lot on Friday, August 15, over 500 supply-filled backpacks were distributed, along with free health screenings and wellness information. Cool treats and fun activities topped off the afternoon.

Many community-based organizations and partners took part in making this year's Back-to-School event a great experience for the Far Rockaway community and beyond.
