We wanted to share a few opportunities coming up where you can participate, volunteer, or simply enjoy being part of something good happening in and around Galway.

The National Junior Honor Society will be collecting personal and food items for the Yellow Ribbon Day Donation Drive from March 23-27, 2026. These items will be sent to our soldiers serving overseas in care packages put together by the Blue Star Mothers. Please donate to this worthy cause and let our American service members know how much the Galway Golden Eagles support and appreciate them 💙🦅💛

The list of items can be found on flyers posted around the school, and collection boxes will be located in front of the Elementary and High School cafeterias.

What an awesome way to give back to the community. Challenge accepted!

I’m gonna start this with a challenge. A challenge to anyone/everyone who reads this. A challenge to my friend, Dan down at Village Home & Garden (that’s Agway to us old school Galway kids). And a challenge to us here at the Bull. Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. Here’s our plan for this year. For every quart of our frozen soups sold down at Dan’s today and tomorrow, we’ll be donating a quart to the Greater Galway Food Pantry. To sweeten the pot, Dan will add $5 a quart to the give. So the challenge…buy soup at Agway and make Dan and me pay for it! Our community, like every other community, has families that rely heavily on our pantry. The folks that run it do an outstanding job. Every single week. Let’s do our part.

A team of elves is currently occupying the entire restaurant for a few days decorating for Christmas. The main room is a complete disaster right now but I promise you that come dinner time Wednesday…this place is gonna be winterland gorgeous! Just in time to kick off Christmas parties, cocktail gatherings, New Year’s Eve and a few Christmas concerts. Speaking of which, multi Grammy nominee Tony Trischka (arguably the greatest banjo player on earth) brings his Holiday Show this Friday. Five incredibly talented, globally touring musicians gathered in a 173 year old barn just outside New York State’s smallest village. Image that! It’s just a beautiful thing. There are a handful of seats available. Give us a call and one of the grownups here will manage the details!

Snow coming, boughs to hang, soup to make. I gotta make this one short. Holiday season is here!

Thanks, as always, for 49 years, 6 months and 4 days of your support. Every single second of it is appreciated. Have a great day!

This past week, one boy was so happy about his snow pants, winter coat, boots, hats, and gloves that he wore them all while walking to the car with his mom. It was the best sight to see.
