Last Monday, on June 8th, the Galway Lions Club held their End of Year Dinner Meeting at the Hang Loose Tavern. The night was a culmination of the club’s efforts throughout the past year. We welcomed the new officers for 2026-2027 and gave out awards to distinguished members. To everyone that attended, thank you! It was a great night of camaraderie.

We are always welcoming new members if you have any interest in joining! We would be happy to see you at our next meeting in September 😁

Memorial Day marks a day where we honor the sacrifices made by all who served in the military. The community came together to express gratitude, celebrate our freedom, and reflect on those we have lost.

The Galway Lions Club had a float within the parade with several members participating. 🇺🇸🦁 During the parade and afterward, we had a pop-up in the village park where we sold various chocolate/nuts and spread the word of our service projects.

We’re always welcoming new members so please consider joining a club that directly helps the community. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!

On April 23rd, the Galway Lions Club presented the Citizenship Award to three Galway CSD students. The winners show benevolence and consideration for those around them in school and in the community. Each have displayed involvement with service-oriented activities at school and within the community. The Lions Club motto is "We serve," and these students have truly demonstrated how to do just that. Congratulations!

At last week’s meeting, Past District Governor (PDG) John McDonald and Lion Jim Flynn spoke about Camp Abilities Saratoga. This is a one-week educational sports camp for children and teens who are visually impaired, blind, or deafblind. It is held at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY and is a service project of the Saratoga Springs Lions 🦁. Additionally, we were happy to have Debra Flint and Julie Pasieka from the Galway Public Library. The club learned about the many happenings at the library, including the countless number of programs the library offers! 📚 Did you know?… in 2025, there were 352 programs! And there is over 35,000 items in the library that can be borrowed! 📖
