Bed and Breakfast inns of Galena or BBIG for short (aka Best of Galena) is a not-for-profit organization of local innkeepers operated for the good of the community. Hosting fundraisers and events, supporting the arts, food pantries, and other public services in the community, Best of Galena embodies the spirit of an innkeeper as a servant to help others. Members of BBIG believe a will

ingness to help and serve are essential characteristics of an innkeeper and through BBIG we are able to share our gifts with the community as well as the visitors of Galena. Many choices are available for lodging in Galena, but there is only one option that truly embodies luxury, historic charm, and personal service: Bed & Breakfasts! Travelers will find more than just a bed for the night because B&Bs offer unique, personal experiences and have innkeepers that are your local resource to the city. In Galena, B&Bs range from country elegance to Victorian opulence, from ultra-modern to preserved historic. Large lodging often lacks the personality that bed and breakfasts are overflowing with. Guests will feel right at home in B&Bs while getting a sense of the history, architecture, and charm that these historic houses have to offer all while being taken care of by innkeepers with years of experience in guest service. Breakfast is the second “B” in B&B and one not to be forgotten! Innkeepers take great pride in serving their guests a breakfast that feels like such a treat and something one would not make for themselves at home. Several of our local innkeepers have even won awards for their breakfasts! In addition to breakfast, most bed and breakfasts offer things like homemade cookies and refreshments throughout the day or a wine reception in the evening where you can meet other guests and make plans for your night out on the town.
