Good evening! I hope your scouts all had fun this past week at camp. The boys worked hard on merit badges. We had a lot of completed badges and some incomplete. We can all work to get those completed.
We walked away winning the campwide games! We had the biggest splash, and placed in Gaga Ball, Golden Archer, and Silver Bullet.
We also walked away with the Gilwell Staff, an award I was convinced Troop 95 would never win. There is a description of the award below. The boy did a great job this week and we are proud of their success and growth!
At Canyon Camp (serving Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa), the Gilwell Staff holds two meanings: it is both a prestigious staff recognition award and a weekly troop award that represents the Scout Spirit and exceptional growth.
The Troop Award: Elected weekly by the camp staff, this forked staff is awarded to the Scouts BSA unit in camp that best lives by the Scout Oath and Law.
