Dianne and I moved to Gainesville February 2025, from Hendersonville NC where we were involved in a church ministry called Loves Kitchen. The activity included clothes, food to take out, and a hot meal each Thursday. With that as a background we were looking for something similar here, when we were introduced to Good Samaritan Food Ministries. We visited with Jackie Powers on a Wednesday and started volunteering the following Friday. The team was very kind and made us feel right at home, so we settled in quickly.

After a few months Jackie approached me about joining the Board which I explained because of being new to the community we didn't know many people. She must have been looking for someone to warm a seat, but if you know Jackie she can be quite persuasive. I have certainly enjoyed meeting two groups of people who have a love for this ministry, and show the love of Jesus in many ways.

Thanks for a great day of golf for a great cause! As we do every year, we honored our first responders. Thank you to all who sponsored this year.

We are in need of volunteer truck riders to ride along with the driver and assist in bringing food to the food bank.
