Join LLA board members and staff for “What’s Floating in Your Water? The Environmental Impact of Dock Floats,” featuring industry leaders from Permafloat.

Learn how dock float design, materials, longevity, and proper disposal can impact our waterways, plus get a Dock Float Health Checklist to help identify potential issues before they become bigger problems.

The tonnage numbers from each Shore Sweep 2026 site are starting to roll in… and here’s what we know so far!

🗑️ Balus Creek Park: 8.19 tons
🗑️ Cresswinds Kayak Club: 2.25 tons
🗑️ Gainesville Marina: 22.21 tons
🗑️ Gwinnett Park: 12.57 tons
🗑️ Holly Park: 2.96 tons
🗑️ Lake Lanier Islands - Boat Ramp: 3.26 tons
🗑️ Lake Lanier Islands - Walkers: 400 lbs

WOW! 👏 Give these sites a round of applause for their hard work. That’s nearly 55 tons collected so far, and we still have many sites left to share with you!

Please join us in thanking Southeastern Dock Supply for removing an abandoned vessel from Lanier Pointe Park, just south of Gainesville Marina, a few days before Shore Sweep! 🚤

⚠️ As we all know, sinking vessels can create safety hazards and harm the environment. LLA’s Abandoned and Derelict Docks and Vessels (ADDV) team had received numerous reports about this vessel, and we were thrilled to see it removed!

This boat alone accounted for nearly 1.5 TONS of waste removed from Lake Lanier before Shore Sweep even began!

We greatly appreciate Southeastern Dock Supply and their tremendous support of both Shore Sweep and LLA’s ADDV program. We love seeing two of our Clean Lake programs working together! 👏

We had so much fun this past weekend at the Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run! 🏴‍☠️ 🚤

It was a great weekend filled with boats, community, and a little pirate fun! We loved connecting with so many members of the Lake Lanier community, lending courtesy life jackets to help promote safety on the water, and sharing more about the Lake Lanier Association’s mission.

We were honored to be one of two beneficiaries, alongside Georgia K9 Search & Recovery, and are so grateful to everyone who came out to support this incredible event! A special thank you to the Pirates of Lanier team, all of the participants, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the weekend a success. 💙

We know many of you have questions and concerns about Lake Lanier’s current water levels. With the lake continuing to fall, it’s understandable to wonder why that is happening after periods of significant rainfall and when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin storing water again. 💧

We wanted to take a closer look at the numbers and share what we know so that the Lake Lanier community has a clearer picture of what is happening.

On the morning of September 19th, hundreds of volunteers scattered along the shores, boats created the first waves of the day, and barges set out with one mission in mind: Clean up Lake Lanier! 🧹

Everyone who contributed to Shore Sweep 2026, whether by foot, land, or boat, helped make the day a huge success, and we want to say THANK YOU. Your time, effort, and support make the work of the Lake Lanier Association possible. 💙

National Public Lands Day is an opportunity for people of all ages to celebrate and care for the public lands and places that make our communities special. This year’s theme is “Caring for Our Shared America” in celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary.
