🐾💕 MEET WENDY — A GENTLE SOUL LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME! 💕

Some dogs run into your arms. Others need a little time to learn that your arms are a safe place. Wendy is one of those dogs. ❤️

This beautiful, fluffy girl has been on quite the journey — from California to Texas and finally to Florida. She's been through so much, but she's still holding out hope that her forever family is out there.

Wendy is a sweet, sensitive Husky who just needs someone willing to give her the patience, understanding, and love she deserves.

🐾 Here's what makes Wendy special:

🐕 Dog friendly! She enjoys the company of other dogs.

🏡 Crate and house trained! She knows how to be a good houseguest.

💕 Affectionate and playful once she feels comfortable.

🦴 Food motivated and eager to learn!

🐈 No cats, please!

👨 Wendy is fearful of men and needs a family willing to let her build trust at her own pace.

Wendy doesn't need someone to "fix" her. She needs someone who understands that trust is earned, confidence takes time, and sometimes the most rewarding relationships are the ones you have to work a little harder for.

She's already come so far. Now she just needs a place to land. 🥹

We know her perfect family is out there. Maybe it's YOU!

🚨🐾 FOUND DOGS – MARION OAKS, OCALA, FL! 🐾🚨

Two beautiful Husky mixes, possibly Pomskies, have been found near Marion Oaks. We need our community's help getting these babies home or somewhere safe temporarily!

The wonderful person who found them has already contacted Animal Control but was reportedly told they would not come pick them up. She's also doing her due diligence by posting them on social media in hopes of locating their family.

Unfortunately, the finder has a disability that prevents her from transporting the dogs, so we're hoping someone in the community can step up! ❤️

🐺 HERE'S WHAT WE NEED:

🐾 MICROCHIP SCAN: Someone who can come to the finder or help transport the dogs to a veterinarian for scanning.

🏡 TEMPORARY FOSTER: Someone willing to provide a safe place for these two while their owners are being located.

🔎 HELP FINDING THEIR FAMILY: Please share this post, especially in Marion Oaks and surrounding Ocala communities!

Swampland Husky Rescue is currently closed for intakes, but that doesn't mean we can't help connect people and resources to get these dogs home safely.

📧 CAN YOU HELP? Please email us at [email protected].

Let's show these two pups what a community coming together can accomplish! 💙

Proof of ownership will be required before the dogs are released to anyone claiming them.

🪶🌿 Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day! 🌿🪶

Did you know that Swampland Husky Rescue is an Indigenous woman-founded and operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit?

Our founder and president is proudly Cherokee, and today we celebrate the strength, resilience, rich cultures, and contributions of our Nation’s First Peoples. ❤️

As an Indigenous-led rescue, we believe deeply in respecting the land, honoring all living beings, and protecting those who cannot speak for themselves. Compassion, stewardship, and community are values we carry into our work every single day.

Indigenous history isn't just something to remember. It's living, breathing, and continuing through generations of people who are still here, still thriving, and still making a difference.

Today and every day, we honor those who came before us, celebrate those carrying their traditions forward, and stand with Indigenous communities across the country.

🐾 Want to show your support? Supporting Indigenous-led organizations like ours makes a difference! Whether you donate, foster, volunteer, or simply share our mission, you're helping us continue saving lives, one husky at a time. ❤️

Oh man! We love how cool the team of Smokey Drew’s BBQ looks rocking our shirts! If you're ANYWHERE near Ocala, FL and love BBQ, or even a little Southern dessert, make sure to check this place out on a Wednesday or Saturday. The BEST BBQ we've had anywhere and they're still out of a food truck. GO SMOKEY DREW'S BBQ!

A big shoutout to Swampland Husky Rescue for donating these shirts to my team!❤️ Sorry I’m just now getting around to showing y’all some love. It’s been a busy few weeks, but please know we greatly appreciate you and your thoughtful gesture!

We’re loving the shirts, as you can see from me and the boys having a good time last night in the man cave🤣 Thank you for thinking of us and for all you do for those pups!🐾🙏🏼

🚨🔥 WE HAD AN ELECTRICAL FIRE TODAY. 🔥🚨

Today was terrifying for Swampland Husky Rescue.

We experienced an electrical fire at our home, and while we are incredibly grateful to say that every single dog and human is SAFE, it was a frightening reminder of just how quickly everything can change.

Our home isn't just a house. It's dedicated entirely to the dogs in our care. It's their sanctuary, their safe place, and where so many get their second chance at life. ❤️🐾

Unfortunately, today's fire brought some serious electrical concerns to light, and we need to make upgrades quickly to ensure our home remains safe for everyone.

⚡ EMERGENCY FUNDRAISING GOAL: $2,000 ⚡

We need to raise $2,000 to cover an electrician and the materials necessary to address these electrical issues before something worse happens.

As a small, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) rescue, unexpected expenses like this are devastating. We're already stretched thin caring for dogs with medical and behavioral needs, and this is simply not an expense we were prepared for.

🙏 CAN YOU HELP US KEEP OUR DOGS SAFE?

Whether it's $5, $10, $25, or simply sharing this post, every little bit brings us closer to making these critical repairs.

🐾 Donate: Linktr.ee/SwamplandHuskyRescue

We spend every day trying to save dogs from dangerous situations. Today, we were reminded that we have to protect the place we've built for them, too.

Thank you for helping us keep their sanctuary safe. 💚

Until Every Husky Has a Home. 🐺

🚨 $5 FRIDAY: OUR DOORS ARE CLOSED, BUT OUR WORK IS FAR FROM OVER. 🐾💔

We need to have a difficult conversation with our supporters.

Swampland Husky Rescue is CLOSED for new intakes until further notice.

Not because we don't care. Not because the dogs have stopped needing us. And certainly not because we want to turn our backs on the Huskies who have nowhere else to go.

We're simply stretched too thin.

Between mounting veterinary bills, behavioral rehabilitation, food, supplies, transportation, and the everyday expenses of keeping our rescue running, we're struggling to keep up.

We have dogs who have been waiting far too long for their forever families. Dogs who need continued medical care. Dogs who require specialized training and patience. Every single one of them deserves our full commitment.

We cannot responsibly continue taking in more dogs when the ones already depending on us still need so much.

💚 BUT HERE'S WHERE YOU COME IN!

It's $5 FRIDAY, and we're asking our community to help us take care of the dogs we've already promised to protect.

🐾 $5 helps fill hungry bellies.

🐾 $10 helps provide treats, enrichment, and everyday essentials.

🐾 $25 helps cover medications and veterinary expenses.

🐾 $50+ helps tackle the bills that never seem to stop coming.

🎃 WE ALSO URGENTLY NEED BOO BASKET DONATIONS! 🎃

We're preparing raffle baskets for Ocala Pet Palooza and the Ocala Fine Arts Festival, and we need donations of items to fill them!

We're putting together small and large human Boo Baskets, plus a special dog-themed basket. We're looking for gift cards, Halloween goodies, pet toys, treats, self-care products, locally made items, and just about anything fun that could make a great raffle prize!

🎁 ALL BOO BASKET DONATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY NEXT FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16!

These raffles will help us raise much-needed funds for the dogs already in our care. Even one small donated item can help us create something wonderful!

🐺 CAN'T DONATE MONEY? THERE ARE STILL SO MANY WAYS TO HELP!

🏡 ADOPT! Our dogs need homes more than ever.

📣 SHARE! Help us reach adopters, donors, and local businesses.

🙌 VOLUNTEER! We need helping hands for our upcomin

🐾 MEET LAURI STRODE — AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! 🐾

How has this gorgeous girl not found her forever home yet?! 🖤

Lauri Strode is a young Siberian Husky mix who is approximately 2½ years old and weighs a very manageable 47 pounds. She has the most striking black, tan and white coloring — and those EARS! 😍

Lauri originally entered the shelter as a stray, but she's ready to leave that chapter of her life behind and find a family of her own.

Her medical checklist is looking great:

🐾 Spayed
❤️ Heartworm negative
💉 Vaccinated
🩺 Medically cleared for adoption
🐕 No bite history
⭐ No further formal behavior evaluation was recommended

At just 47 pounds, Lauri is a beautiful medium-sized girl with her whole life ahead of her. She deserves to know what it's like to have a home where she is loved, wanted and never has to wonder where she belongs again.

📩 Interested in adopting Lauri Strode? Send us a message or submit an adoption application at Linktr.ee/SwamplandHuskyRescue

Please SHARE — her forever family could be one share away. 🖤🐾
