Meet Tide 🌊

At just 11 weeks old, Tide has already fought battles no puppy should ever have to face.

This beautiful Husky puppy was abandoned in a shelter parking lot, sick and alone. Upon intake, he tested positive for parvo, hookworms, and coccidia. Despite everything stacked against him, Tide refused to give up.

Thanks to the dedication of his veterinary team, Tide has made a full recovery and is now exactly what an 11-week-old Husky puppy should be: playful, mischievous, energetic, and full of opinions. (His Husky voice is already working perfectly. 😂)

Tide is healthy, vaccinated, dewormed, and ready to start the next chapter of his life. What he needs now is a foster or foster-to-adopt home that understands the unique needs of a Husky puppy and is willing to help him grow into the amazing dog he's meant to be.

Puppies are cute, but Huskies are a commitment. Tide will need patience, training, structure, exercise, and plenty of love as he learns about the world around him.

After everything he's overcome, we want to make sure this little survivor never has to wonder if he's wanted again.

🎉❤️ WELCOME TO SWAMPLAND, MAX! ❤️🎉

Max Ozuna (A0057330899) is officially safe and settling into his foster home in North Georgia!

Just days ago, Max was facing a euthanasia deadline at DeKalb County Animal Services. After spending so much time in and out of the shelter system, Max found himself in a new home where he was reportedly struggling to take his medication. As a result, he found himself in need of rescue and running out of time.

Today, that same dog is already showing us who he truly is.

After only a few days in foster care, Max is settling in beautifully. The stressed, overlooked dog who was running out of options is already making himself at home and winning hearts. It's amazing what stability, understanding, and a safe place to land can do.

This week, Max will be visiting the veterinarian so we can evaluate an old foot injury that was never properly treated. We are committed to making sure he receives the care and support he needs as he begins this new chapter.

We want to thank his incredible foster family, everyone who shared his posts, everyone who networked on his behalf, and everyone who pledged to help save his life. Because of you, Max gets the second chance he deserved.

🚨 JADA DESERVED A CHANCE 🚨

Jada is dead.

A young Husky was reportedly adopted, returned after just two days, and euthanized by Lee County Domestic Animal Services. Rescue organizations that regularly take dogs with behavioral challenges were never given the opportunity to help.

We are asking our supporters to respectfully contact Governor Ron DeSantis and request an investigation into Jada's euthanasia and Lee County's rescue notification procedures.

I respectfully request an investigation into Jada's euthanasia, a review of Lee County's rescue notification procedures, and greater transparency regarding the assessments used to justify this decision.

WHY? WHY? WHY?

Why should rescues continue stepping up when dogs are being euthanized without even being given a chance?

Jada was euthanized.

No rescue plea. No outreach. No opportunity for organizations like ours to evaluate her, advocate for her, or offer her a path to safety.

We have already emailed the Rescue Coordinator at Lee County Domestic Animal Services demanding answers as to why Jada was never brought to the attention of rescue partners before her life was taken.

At Swampland Husky Rescue, we take dogs with behavioral challenges. We take dogs with bite histories. We take dogs with rough starts and complicated stories because we believe every dog deserves to be evaluated as an individual—not discarded as an inconvenience.

Jada deserved that chance.

Instead, she was killed without rescue intervention, and we want to know why.

How many more dogs have to die before shelters start utilizing the rescue community that stands ready to help?

Enough is enough, Lee County.

Today, I'll be grieving a dog I never got the chance to meet—a dog who never got the chance to prove who she was, a dog who never got the chance to live.

Today is the day. ❤️

Kibo is on his way.

Not long ago, this beautiful young Husky was just another unwanted dog facing an uncertain future in China. A dog who could have easily become another statistic. Another life lost before ever knowing what it means to be safe, loved, and wanted.

Instead, today, Kibo is boarding a journey toward freedom.

As he sits in his crate, leaving everything familiar behind, he has no idea that an entire community on the other side of the world has been fighting for him. He doesn't know how many people donated, shared posts, cheered him on, and believed his life mattered.

But because of you, another dog leaves the Chinese dog meat trade behind forever.

There are still so many waiting for their chance, but today we're celebrating Kibo. His second chance. His freedom flight. His future.
