Messengers of Peace

What if every service project your Scouts completed became part of something much bigger?

That's the idea behind Messengers of Peace.

Whether your unit is collecting food, restoring a trail, mentoring younger Scouts, supporting veterans, cleaning a park, or helping after a disaster, you're already making a difference. The Messengers of Peace program helps Scouts recognize that these acts of service are part of a worldwide movement to build stronger, more peaceful communities.

Peace isn't just the absence of conflict. It's helping a neighbor, protecting the environment, welcoming others, solving problems, and leaving every place better than you found it.

Millions of Scouts around the world are taking action through Messengers of Peace. Your unit can be part of that movement.

Over the next several weeks, we'll highlight different aspects of the program, share project ideas, and show how every Scout can become a Messenger of Peace.

Namekagon River Night 4

Portaged the Trego dam today. Piece of cake. We are camped a few miles downstream from there. Coolers are getting lighter every day!
Tonight Zack treated us to pulled pork and brisket. It's amazing what having dry ice does for river menus!

Barred Owls are hooting and the stars are out!

Namekagon River Day 2. We are at a campsite just upstream of mile 44. 14 miles on the river today! Mr Short was spent after we got camp set up and had nap in the hammock. Smash burgers for dinner, and an afternoon "snack" of Hawaiian roll turkey sandwiches.

Staying in Trego tomorrow!
