Greetings everyone!

I hope this email finds you well!

Our annual Taco Bar and Cake Auction is coming up again, and it is one of the best nights we have all year. You eat. You laugh. You bid on tasty desserts. Every dollar goes straight to missions and discipleship in our student ministry.

Here is how the cake auction works. People from our church donate desserts. Some are the kind of cakes, pies, and sweets that already have a reputation around here. Others are homemade favorites somebody’s family has been asking for all year. We set them out, open the bidding, and you decide what they are worth. The person with the highest bid takes the dessert home. All of the money stays here and funds the work we do with students.

Last year, the proceeds helpedfund a mission trip to western North Carolina. On that same trip, students in our own ministry came to salvation in Christ. That is not a line we put on a flyer. That is what the generosity of this church contributed to. We would not have been able to take that trip, or see what God did through it, without the aid of all of you.

We are doing this again because we have big things planned this year. We are asking God to move in our students, and we are getting ready to go where He sends us. This fundraiser pays for these opportunities, ensuring students can serve God without bearing a huge financial weight and removing such barriers that might prevent them from serving.

whether you bake, or know someone who does, a dessert to donate to the auction would be a real help. Come hungry. Bid if you can—all proceeds go straight back to the Lord's work. And if you have a neighbor or a friend who has never been here, bring them along. Tacos, something sweet to take home, and another year of this work made possible.

See flyer below for more details!

We cannot do this without you. Last year proved that. We are trusting God, and we are trusting this church, to do it once more.

Grateful for you,

Greetings everyone,

This is the last push for our Student Ministry whitewater rafting trip this Saturday, September 19.

We’re going to the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte (5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy). We’ll meet in the church parking lot and ride together both ways.

Cost is $50 per student. That covers rafting, park entry, and the ride. If the cost would keep your student from coming, just tell me — money should never be the reason someone stays home.

There are still slots. Rafts hold eight paddlers with a trained guide in every boat. First-timers are welcome. Rapids are Class II–IV. Minimum age is 11 (everyone in our group qualifies).

Please let me know if your teen is coming so we can lock in numbers and boats. Reply to this email or text the student’s name to 919-418-6550.

What to bring

Clothes you don’t mind getting wet
Shoes that strap on (no flip-flops)
A towel and a full change of clothes
Sunscreen and a water bottle
Lunch money
Looking forward to a great day on the water.
