We are working on the details for the Winter Season.

For now, here is what we have confirmed:

Folkstyle (Winter) Season:
Dates: October 19, 2026 - February 19, 2026

Club Costs: $100 per month ($400 total for season) if committed for entire season / $125 per month if only committing to one month at a time

NCWAY Membership Costs: $20 per year (per insurance regulations, every wrestler and coach must be a member of NCWAY)

Ages: Elementary and Middle School Ages (Must be 5 years old or older by November 15, 2026)

Practices: Will be two days per week (Monday / Wednesday or Tuesday / Thursday). Times are typically 6pm to 7:30pm for Elementary Ages and 6pm to 8pm for middle school ages. Although times may change based on availability of the mat room.

We are working out which group will go an each night now, more to follow by end of August.

Tournaments:
—Experience Wrestlers (completed 2 years or more wrestling) have tournaments on Saturday (Elementary in AM sessions / Middle School in Afternoon Sessions)

—Rookie Wrestlers (less than 2 years wrestling) have tournaments on Sundays (Normally Elementary in AM sessions / Middle School in Afternoon Sessions, but some are all in the afternoons)

Practice Location: Inside Original Strength Institute, 212 S. Main Street, Fuquay-Varina… PLEASE ALWAYS ENTER FROM THE BACK OFF SPRING AVE, Front Entrance (Main Street) is for personal training, physical therapy, and the OSI store.

Tournament Costs: Normally $25 per tournament

Coaches: While we have many of the same coaches from our previous 5 seasons returning, we need more coaches. If you are interested in coaching, please reach out to Coach Lumsden at [email protected].

Website: We desperately need someone to build our webpage and help keep it running. We will offer a discount to the parent (or parents) that can volunteer to help out with this.

Lastly, We will hold preseason practices and clinics for High School and Middle School aged wrestlers in September and October. More to follow once we confirm details.

Canceling practices isn't usually my preference, especially when we're already short on practice time during the offseason. However, I invested time in watching coaching videos tailored to elementary wrestlers. This proactive approach enabled me to refine my techniques and think creatively. I'm excited to put these new ideas into action with our elementary group.

Parents,

Based on responses we will not hold elementary practice tomorrow (5/23/26). We don’t have enough wrestlers and the right match ups.

We will be back on 5/30/26.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I have a quick favor to ask. Please take a brief moment to remember the Service Members that gave their all in the service of our country. I will be saying the names of the Soldiers lost during my two tours in Iraq and taking some time to honor them.

Great turn out today at the Elementary Practice. Thanks to all of the wrestlers and parents that came.

Remember to select one of the plans that states elementary or the drop in.

There are three options:

1- Season membership: Commit to all three months for $150 ($50 per month) which can be paid all at once or on a monthly schedule.

2- Month to Month: Commit to only one month at a time for $65. This plan automatically renews if you don’t cancel.

3- Drop In fee: $20 per session, no commitments.

1) Can I try it out? You can attend one session for free to try us out.

3) Do I have to have a NCWAY or USA Wrestling Membership? Yes, you must have an NCWAY membership. We will assist you with this during your first week.

Thanks for everyone’s patience on getting out information on wrestling for the Spring and Summer months. We are still working on finalizing coaches. For now, here is the plan:

Already started:
8th graders to 12th graders - Sundays 2pm to 4pm (This is Coach Connor Wrought from WSHS, and not officially part of the club. All participants must have an NCWAY card and pay Coach Wrought direct)

Starting in April and going through June:

Middle School and High School Ages: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30pm to 8:30pm (Cost is $100 per month)

Elementary Ages: Saturdays 8am to 10am. (Cost is $50 per month). We will try to add a second day, but that’s all we can offer right now.

I’ll send out more information once I confirm coaches.

Our folkstyle season has officially come to an end.

On behalf of all of our Coaches, I want to thank every parent and wrestler for making this season truly special. We had a lot of success and our we learned from all of our struggles.

We are planning an end of season celebration. I’ll get the date, time and location out soon.

We are starting a year round wrestling program for those that are interested in continuing wrestling after the season is over. The year round program is open to all ages, including adults. We will separate based on age experience levels.
