Hope Can't Wait, A Luncheon for Lasting Impact 💙

This year, you’ll hear directly from people receiving Pathways of Hope services as they share their lived experiences and the impact of support, hope, and community in their journeys. We’ll also look back on the work accomplished over the last fiscal year, share what’s ahead (including the upcoming Via Esperanza renovation) and celebrate some of the incredible people who have helped shape Pathways of Hope!

🏆 We’re also introducing exciting new awards honoring legends in our history:

✨ The Barbara Johnson Legacy Award: Our very own Pathways of Hope Hall of Fame! We’ll celebrate our first two inductees and award recipients, Barbara Jennings and Tom Pankow

✨ The Barbara Jennings Ambassador Award: Recognizing an individual who has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to Pathways of Hope through volunteerism, philanthropy, leadership, AND championing our mission in the community!

✨ The Tom Pankow Employee of the Year Award: Tom dedicated countless hours of his personal time to Pathways of Hope as a volunteer, going above and beyond in a way that made him feel like an invaluable member of our staff. He embodied the dedication, commitment, and heart we look for in our Employee of the Year. In honor of his lasting impact on Pathways, we are proud to present this award in his name each year!

This distinction places Pathways of Hope among the nation's leading organizations committed to delivering the highest standard of care for individuals and families experiencing food and housing insecurity.

For Sarah Pena, Pathways of Hope's Senior Director of Programs, achieving Elite Accreditation was never just about earning a distinction, it was about growing as an organization. Help local students start the school year with confidence! 📚✏️🎒

Pathways of Hope is collecting brand-new school supplies to support local children and families as they prepare for the new school year. Every donation helps ensure students have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

🗓️ Collection Dates: Now — August 27, 2026
📍Drop-off Address: The HUB of Hope at 611 S Ford Ave, Fullerton, CA 92832
⏰ Drop-off Times: Monday — Thursday, 9:30 AM — 11:30 AM

Most Needed Items:

✅ School supplies and writing materials: Backpacks, wide-ruled and college-ruled notebooks, composition books, binder paper, index cards

✅ Binders and organization: Binders (1, 1.5, and 2 inches), folders (with and without pockets), pocket folders, pencil boxes and pouches

✅ Writing tools: Pencils, pens (blue, black, and red), crayons, colored pencils, washable markers, highlighters, dry erase markers

✅ Classroom essentials: Glue sticks, scissors, erasers, rulers, calculators

We're honored to share that we've been selected as a 2026 Samueli Foundation Build OC Fund recipient!

This investment will help us renovate and update our Via Esperanza Family Homeless Shelter with new ADA-accessible units and ensure that every family who stays with us has a dignified, safe, and high-quality experience that reflects the Pathways standards.

We're proud to be among the organizations receiving support through this year’s granting initiative, representing $15 million invested in nonprofits strengthening capacity, expanding opportunity, and improving quality of life across Orange County.
