Thank you for making our second annual Hope Can’t Wait luncheon a success! 💙

To all 130 of our attendees, thank you for helping create such a warm and welcoming space for current and former Pathways of Hope clients to share their lived experiences with hunger and homelessness. By showing up, listening, and standing alongside those we serve, YOU, our supporters, help foster the hope and sense of community that make journeys toward stability possible. 💪

This year's luncheon was also especially meaningful as we proudly introduced new Pathways of Hope awards! Congratulations to Barbara Jennings, Tom Pankow, Wendy Reid, and Adan Reyes on their well-deserved recognition! 👏

🧡 Big things are happening through our partnership with the Samueli Foundation!

We’re thrilled to announce TWO new exciting collaborations that will help more of our neighbors stay housed and access the support they need.

🏠 Keep OC Housed through the Samueli Foundation's inaugural OC+ Fund

As one of 10 collaborations selected for the Samueli Foundation’s OC+ Fund, Pathways of Hope is proud to join the Keep OC Housed collaborative, working alongside:

🤝 Community Legal Aid SoCal

Together, we're working to strengthen coordination between the legal sector and eviction prevention partners so that families and individuals at risk of losing their housing can access more streamlined, timely support.

🏠 Eviction Prevention for Older Adults

The Samueli Foundation has also invested $375,000 in Pathways of Hope to provide eviction prevention assistance to older adults facing housing instability.

With rising costs and fixed incomes creating increasing challenges for seniors, this investment will help us provide critical support to keep older adults safely and stably housed.

We are so grateful to the Samueli Foundation for their continued support and commitment to our community. Their partnership and investment in Pathways of Hope help make it possible for us to create meaningful pathways to housing stability and build a stronger community for all. Hope Can't Wait, A Luncheon for Lasting Impact 💙

This year, you’ll hear directly from people receiving Pathways of Hope services as they share their lived experiences and the impact of support, hope, and community in their journeys. We’ll also look back on the work accomplished over the last fiscal year, share what’s ahead (including the upcoming Via Esperanza renovation) and celebrate some of the incredible people who have helped shape Pathways of Hope!

🏆 We’re also introducing exciting new awards honoring legends in our history:

✨ The Barbara Johnson Legacy Award: Our very own Pathways of Hope Hall of Fame! We’ll celebrate our first two inductees and award recipients, Barbara Jennings and Tom Pankow

✨ The Barbara Jennings Ambassador Award: Recognizing an individual who has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to Pathways of Hope through volunteerism, philanthropy, leadership, AND championing our mission in the community!

✨ The Tom Pankow Employee of the Year Award: Tom dedicated countless hours of his personal time to Pathways of Hope as a volunteer, going above and beyond in a way that made him feel like an invaluable member of our staff. This distinction places Pathways of Hope among the nation's leading organizations committed to delivering the highest standard of care for individuals and families experiencing food and housing insecurity.

For Sarah Pena, Pathways of Hope's Senior Director of Programs, achieving Elite Accreditation was never just about earning a distinction, it was about growing as an organization.
