👏PAID MATERNITY LEAVE👏FOR EDUCATORS 👏 IS 👏 NOT 👏 CONTROVERSIAL 👏
76% of teachers in Texas are women. Nearly half of all teachers leave within the first 5 years of teaching to go to other professions. Hmm, what are teachers doing within the first five years?
These states have started solving this problem by providing some kind of paid maternity leave for public school educators:
1. Alabama
2. Arkansas
3. Delaware
4. Georgia
5. Maine
6. Maryland
7. Minnesota
8. New Jersey
9. North Carolina
10. Oklahoma
11. Oregon
12. South Carolina
13. Tennessee
14. Utah
15. Washington
16. District of Columbia (DC)
Let’s stop making excuses and get it done.
Until paid maternity leave for educators becomes law, donate to us while we solve this problem ourselves by paying educators directly while they’re out on unpaid leave with the babies they’ve birthed, fostered, or adopted.
If you truly value public education and teachers (76% of whom are women), you will support this policy and our nonprofit’s work. There is nothing but goodness to be had here.
Join us in celebrating babies, public educators, and women. It’s super fun.
