St. John UCC is proud to host Freeport Pride Picnic this Saturday, 6/14 from 11:00am-3:00pm. Come celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month! Enjoy food and activities for all ages, and learn about local LGBTQ+-friendly organizations. We hope to see you all there! We are fortunate to have breeding Dickcissels at Elkhorn Creek Biodiversity Preserve. This one greeted us as we started our work day this morning.

Please join us for stewardship. The work is valuable to preserving this habitat for birds like this!

Do you want to get more involved with helping the environment? This is a great opportunity for you!

Our chapter manages two native prairies, which in Illinois, has been diminished greatly, which means loss of habitat for birds and other wildlife.

The work we do in the summer helps in the preservation and conservation of habitat for birds that migrate through as well as many breeding birds.

We work for two hours in the early morning and always take breaks (with delicious snacks too!).
