Freeport Student Garden The Freeport Student Garden uses gardening as a tool to teach Freeport youth job readiness skills. We are located behind Freeport Middle School. and Locust Ave.

You can purchase our produce at our Self-Service Farmstand or at the Stephenson County Farmers Market. We are located south of the intersection of Empire St. in Freeport, IL.

Good morning! ☀️ The sun is shining and the stand is STOCKED! This is our final harvest of the season, so don’t miss out: peppers, pumpkins, tomatoes, beans… 🫑🌶️🎃🍅🫘We’ve gotcha covered! Located in the southwest parking lot of Empire and Locust by the FMS soccer fields.

We’ll still have some cucumbers and tomatoes as our high tunnels will be running through the rest of the month, but our regular field harvest will be finished this weekend. 🥒🍅

Thank you for all of your support and engagement this season. We’re always grateful for our patrons and the community we’ve built around fresh produce and student work. We hope to see you again in the spring! 🥨❤️🥬

Gourd things come to those who wait — and you’ve been patient for pumpkin season! We’ve got a couple of beauties out on the stand for you today, along with our butternut squash, tomatoes, black eyed peas, and more. 🎃🍅🫛

Also featured today is the painted lady butterfly! We’ve been seeing quite a few of those around the garden lately. They symbolize adapting to difficult circumstances, hardcore resilience, and trusting the path ahead, no matter how uncertain. We here at the garden hope our painted lady butterflies give you the strength to embrace your own journey, no matter where it brings you. 🧡🖤🦋
