Now’s the perfect time to get out and explore the little streams and cascades around FCT preserves. Here’s a peek at the sweet little cascade on the Blue trail at Simpson Woods. But that’s not the only place worth checking out- you can find more flowing streams at Frost Gully, Harvey Brook, Sayles Field, and Powell Point!

🎉New Trail Alert 🎉Coming soon to Wescott Woods!

Last Thursday, six amazing volunteers showed up on a crisp spring morning to help build a new trail out at Wescott Woods with a couple small bog bridges through a mature forest to a small sparkling waterfall! Thank you's all around to this stellar crew! Stay tuned for a trail opening as soon as we can get the trail signage in place.

🚧 Calderwood Coastal Trail- Temporarily Closed 🚧

The final trail surface on the Calderwood Coastal Trail is being laid and leveled right now! Once complete, it needs time to settle and firm up before it’s ready for visitors.
We’ll reopen soon with an improved path that welcomes people of all ages and abilities to enjoy stunning views of Maquoit Bay. Please note this trail improvement was not designed for bike use. For the longevity of this trail and for users who maintain a slower pace, we ask for your cooperation.

Thank you for your patience! In the meantime, we encourage you to explore the inland trails across the street or other FCT trails around town.

Every trail walked, every wetland restored, every view that stops you in your tracks- this is why we do what we do. In celebration of Earth Day, we asked our staff to share their favorite views from the lands we protect together. These are the places that remind us why this work matters.

Huge thanks to the team for joining us at Sayles Field for a successful trail work day to kick off Earth Week! 🌎🌿

With their help, we made great progress cutting back invasive plants and keeping the trails more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We’re so grateful for your time, energy, and commitment to caring for these spaces. We couldn’t do it without you!

Want to join in on the fun? We'll be back out on the trails May 7th for our monthly trail crew session. Contact us for more details.

Wet feet dry faster than a damaged ecosystem can heal. Mud can tempt us to wander, but staying on the marked trails helps protect the plants and prevent erosion. Please do your best to refrain from going out on trail right after a rainy day to give the trails time to dry up. Please let us know if a you come across an especially muddy section of trail that we should attend to.
