What a great meeting Wednesday!! It started with a beautiful tribute to Dolly Parton, with her presentation to Rotary International at the Rotary Convention in Canada several years ago discussing her program to encourage reading by providing books to children from Birth to Kindergarten.

President Tony Sharpe awarded a Community Support grant to Artistry Explorers, founded by a student at BGA to increase young people to enjoy all the arts.

Then we had a second reading for a potential member!! How exciting!! (Watch us grow!)

Happy Bucks is always a fun time! Listening to members talk about what makes them happy!

Our program was presented by a local nonprofit, Tucker’s House, Executive Director, Graham Honeycutt. Graham talked about their mission of making homes accessible to people facing handicaps. This particular story was about a young woman who was essentially, bed bound until Tucker’s House, renovated the house, adding a driveway, a handicap assessible bathroom and adding a system that allows for this previously bedbound young woman to move from bed to wheelchair more easily!! An amazing story!!

After that moving program, our club awarded our second Support Grant to Tennessee 4-H Foundation for their 4-H Livestock auction. Tony will join our member, Larry Darnell tonight to bid on a lamb to help raise money for 4-H programs in Williamson County.

Our morning ended with the 4-Way test and our addition of “Have Fun!”.

Great food distribution with One Generation Away in Hickman County, Saturday. It was a special birthday for Tony Sharpe, our President! As always Rotarians were hard a work helping others!

Rotarians showed up Saturday for One Gen Away food distribution in Hickman County especially for President Tony Sharpes’ birthday! Happy Birthday, Tony!! We served over 300 families!

Our program yesterday was fascinating! We were pleased to welcome Craig Ingram - Tennessee 811. Tennessee 811 is a private non-profit organization that works to prevent damage to buried cable in yards of homeowners as well as large public projects. Craig reminded people to “Call 811 Before You Dig”. Lots of companies installing underground cable, phone lines, water lines and alarm lines.
