When care continues for years, a family becomes part of the story, and checking on their well-being becomes more than an initiative; it becomes a responsibility.

Dr. Shadi Zaza, President of Rahma Worldwide, visited Umm Maher and her seven orphaned children in Damascus, a family that has been supported through Rahma Worldwide’s orphan sponsorship program for more than three years, to extend Eid Al-Adha greetings and check on their well-being.
The visit was more than a holiday greeting; it reflected the true meaning of sponsorship—one built on care, connection, and standing alongside families throughout their journey.
With every visit, the bonds of compassion grow stronger, transforming support into a lasting relationship and reminding children and their families that they are not alone, that there are people who share in their joys and walk beside them every step of the way.

زار الدكتور شادي ظاظا رئيس منظمة رحمة حول العالم، السيدة أم ماهر وأيتامها السبعة في دمشق، الذين تتولى المنظمة كفالتهم منذ أكثر من ثلاث سنوات، وذلك لتقديم التهاني بمناسبة عيد الأضحى المبارك والاطمئنان على أحوالهم.
لم تكن الزيارة مجرد مباركة بالعيد، بل تجسيدًا لمعنى الكفالة الحقيقية التي تقوم على القرب والاهتمام ومرافقة الأسر في مختلف مراحل حياتها.

As part of the “Our Countryside Deserves It” campaign, and amid ongoing efforts to restore life to schools across rural Damascus, we have begun interior and exterior finishing works at Bseima School, in preparation for its opening and the return of children to their classrooms in a safe and supportive learning environment.

This step is not merely construction work; it is an investment in the future, and a clear message that education is not something to wait for; it is something built through determination and action.

Together, we are restoring the right to education in the countryside… and building a future worthy of its children.

Dr. Shadi Zaza emphasized that institution-building is not merely an administrative or organizational process; it is, above all, a societal endeavor rooted in public awareness, trust, and active participation.
He noted that strong institutions are not built solely through structures, regulations, or systems, but through communities that recognize their responsibilities and embrace the values of cooperation, accountability, and collective action. The greater the level of community awareness, the stronger the ability of institutions to fulfill their mission, create meaningful impact, and achieve long-term sustainability.

These remarks were made during Dr. Shadi Zaza’s lecture, “Community Awareness Is Not a Luxury, but a Fundamental Condition for Any Real and Sustainable Peace,” held at the National Library in Damascus. The lecture explored the critical role of community awareness in promoting stability, driving positive change, and building institutions capable of serving society and advancing sustainable development.

أكّد الدكتور شادي ظاظا أن صناعة المؤسسات ليست عملية إدارية أو تنظيمية فحسب، بل هي عملية مجتمعية بامتياز، تنطلق من وعي الناس وثقتهم ومشاركتهم الفاعلة.
وأشار إلى أن المؤسسات القوية لا تُبنى بالجدران أو الأنظمة وحدها، بل تُبنى بمجتمعٍ يدرك مسؤوليته، ويؤمن بقيم التعاون والمساءلة والعمل المشترك. فكلما ارتفع مستوى الوعي المجتمعي، ازدادت قدرة المؤسسات على أداء دورها وتحقيق أثرها واستدامتها.

Today, joy had a sound.

The sound of a child hearing the world more clearly, a family experiencing a long-awaited moment of relief, and hope returning to the lives of those whose hearing loss had made everyday communication a challenge.

Through the medical project under the "Aleppo Pride of All" Campaign, Rahma Worldwide, in partnership with JIGSAW Organization, continues to support the most vulnerable and underserved medical cases across Aleppo and its countryside.

As part of the project's seventh phase, which serves 40 diverse medical cases, four hearing aid fittings were carried out today at Rahma Center in Hanano. The beneficiaries included three children and one elderly man.

A hearing aid may be small in size, but for those who receive it, it opens a new window to life, helping them reconnect with the voices they have missed, communicate more easily with those around them, and navigate daily life with greater confidence.

Because some moments do more than change a single day, they open the door to a new beginning.

صوت طفلٍ يسمع من حوله بوضوح للمرة الأولى، وصوت أسرةٍ انتظرت هذه اللحظة طويلًا، وصوت أملٍ يعود إلى حياة من حرمهم ضعف السمع من التواصل مع العالم كما ينبغي.

ضمن المشروع الطبي لحملة "حلب ست الكل"، تواصل منظمة رحمة حول العالم، بالشراكة مع جيكسو، دعم الحالات الطبية الأشد حاجةً وفقرًا في مدينة حلب وريفها.

وفي المرحلة السابعة من المشروع، التي تستهدف 40 حالة طبية متنوعة، تم اليوم تنفيذ أربع حالات لتركيب السماعات الطبية في مركز رحمة بمدينة هنانو، استفاد منها ثلاثة أطفال ورجلٌ مسن.

قد تبدو السماعة جهازًا صغيرًا، لكنها بالنسبة لأصحابها نافذةٌ جديدة على الحياة، وفرصةٌ لاستعادة أصواتٍ افتقدوها طويلًا، وتحسين قدرتهم على التواصل مع من حولهم وممارسة حياتهم اليومية بصورة أفضل.

لأن بعض اللحظات لا تغيّر يومًا واحدًا فقط, بل تفتح بابًا لحياةٍ جديدة.

Sometimes, hope needs nothing more than a sound.

The sound of a mother calling her child and hearing her child answer back, or words that have been missed for far too long finally finding their way back into someone's life.

Through the medical project under the "Aleppo Pride of All" Campaign, Rahma Worldwide, in partnership with JIGSAW Organization, continues to support the most vulnerable and underserved medical cases across Aleppo and its countryside by providing essential healthcare services and medical assistance to those who need them most.

As part of the project's seventh phase, which targets 40 diverse medical cases, four hearing aid fittings were carried out today at Rahma Center in Hanano. The beneficiaries included three children and one elderly man living with hearing loss. What may seem like a small device can make a profound difference, helping recipients reconnect with loved ones, communicate more confidently with those around them, and return to moments of everyday life they have long been missing.

Because some acts of kindness are not seen with the eyes, they are heard with the heart.

During a field visit to one of the hospitals in Aleppo, Dr. Shadi Zaza, President of Rahma Worldwide, reviewed the progress of the Medical Cases in Syria – Phase Seven project, implemented in partnership with JIGSAW, which aims to support the most vulnerable patients by covering the costs of surgeries and specialized medical treatments.

The visit also included checking on a young girl who benefited from the project after successfully undergoing foot surgery, in a moment that reflects the true meaning of timely access to care and the importance of ensuring treatment reaches those who need it most.
In every treated case, a life is restored.

In his lecture, “Community Awareness Is Not a Luxury, but a Fundamental Condition for Any Real and Sustainable Peace” Dr. Dr. Shadi Zaza emphasized that Syria’s future is a shared responsibility and that society resembles a single ship: if a breach is left unaddressed, the danger will not affect one individual or group alone—it will ultimately impact everyone on board.

He stressed the importance of moving beyond hasty judgments and divisive narratives that can distort reality or reproduce conflict in new forms. He noted that the transitional phase requires collective awareness, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to distinguish between legitimate differences of opinion and behaviors that threaten social stability.

True peace cannot be built through decisions and policies alone. It is built through an aware society one that recognizes its role in safeguarding the social fabric and working together toward a more stable, just, and prosperous future for all.

في محاضرته بعنوان "الوعي المجتمعي ليس رفاهية بل شرط أساسي لأي سلام حقيقي ومستدام"، أكّد الدكتور شادي ظاظا أن مستقبل سوريا مسؤوليةٌ مشتركة، وأن المجتمع يشبه سفينةً واحدة، فإذا تُرك الخرق دون مواجهة، فإن الخطر لا يصيب فرداً أو فئةً بعينها، بل يطال الجميع.

وأشار إلى أهمية تجاوز الأحكام المتسرعة والانقسامات التي قد تُشوّه الحقائق أو تعيد إنتاج الصراعات بأشكال جديدة، مؤكداً أن المرحلة الانتقالية تتطلب وعياً جماعياً، وحساً عالياً بالمسؤولية، وقدرةً على التمييز بين الاختلاف المشروع والممارسات التي تهدد استقرار المجتمع.

فالسلام الحقيقي لا يُبنى بالقرارات وحدها، بل بوعي الناس، وإدراكهم لدورهم في حماية النسيج المجتمعي، والتعاون من أجل مستقبل أكثر استقراراً وعدالةً للجميع.
