Thank you to the Highland Park Fire Department for opening your doors and allowing us share your space this afternoon and a special thank you to the Detroit Court No.1 Heroines of Jericho for allowing us to be a part of such a special occasion!!

It was an honor to be of service to the young ladies in the community and give to the expecting mothers. This is proof that collectively we can make great things happen! Thank you to all the other vendors in attendance and last but most certainly not least, thank you to the Brothers of Unity Lodge No.28 for your contributions.

Today, the Athena Protection Foundation hosted our Bowling Fundraiser β€” 🎳

Thank you to every supporter, donor, and partner who joined us. Proceeds directly sustain APF's free crime victim advocacy services: safety planning, Personal Protection Order support, court accompaniment, and community safety education for survivors across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties.

A special thank you to Carolyn Bonner, StuArti Clark, Ruthie, & Denise Morris-Smith, K&K Assisted Living LLC, and Freshstart Transitional Homes for your continued support!

We are especially grateful to our honorees, Cecilia and Jeffrey Walker Sr., whose ongoing support reflects the kind of community partnership that makes survivor-centered work sustainable.
When a community invests in survivors, it invests in safety, dignity, and recovery for everyone. Thank you for investing with us.

In Michigan, once a domestic violence complaint leads to criminal charges, the case belongs to the State of Michigan, not the alleged victim. The prosecutor decides whether to continue, reduce, or dismiss the case. The complaining party is legally treated as a witness, not the party controlling the prosecution.

🚨 FREE isn't always free. Here's what every kid (and parent) needs to know before tapping DOWNLOAD.

In this episode of the Little Reggie Safety Education Series, Reggie teaches his little sister Tamika one of the most important rules of digital safety: ASK FIRST.

Before downloading any app or game, kids should pause and check with a trusted adult. Why? Because a lot of "free" apps want something in return β€” your name, your location, your contacts, your photos, even your voice. That information has real value, and once it's shared, you can't always get it back.

One of the most important lessons we can teach children is this: standing up for someone doesn't mean starting a fight.

Little Reggie's "Four Ways to Help" framework gives children concrete, age-appropriate tools for bystander intervention β€” without putting themselves at risk:

Direct β€” Calmly speak up in the moment.
Distract β€” Redirect attention to de-escalate.
Delegate β€” Involve a trusted adult.
Delay β€” Check on the person afterward.

Research consistently shows that bystander support is one of the most effective deterrents to bullying. When children feel equipped β€” not just told to "do something" β€” they act.

This content is part of the Little Reggie Safety Education Series, developed to bring trauma-informed, empowerment-focused safety education to children across Metro Detroit.

Educators and community partners: we'd love to connect. Drop a comment or send a message to learn how to bring Little Reggie into your school or program.
