Y’all already know what day it is… WISHLIST WEDNESDAY! 🎉

Over the last week, we’ve had the honor of serving multiple children entering foster care, and a few unexpected needs have left some gaps on our shelves.

Every item donated helps us be ready to say "YES" when a child walks through our red door—or when a foster family gets that phone call and needs support right away.

Whether you shop our wishlist, purchase items locally and drop them off, or donate gift cards, you are helping us make sure children and families have what they need during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Last week, we had the privilege of helping **7 children under the age of 2** from **3 different counties**, all of whom found foster homes in and bordering Johnston County.

That’s 7 little ones who received toys, comfort items, and all the character-themed goodies we could find to help make a hard day a little brighter.

That’s 4 foster homes that were able to say “yes” more easily because they didn’t have to rush out for essentials, purchase new car seats, find cribs, or buy beds.

This is what community looks like.

You show up time and time again—with donated items, financial support, volunteer hours, event participation, and prayers. Because of you, children and foster families have what they need when they need it most.

At first glance, this looks like a simple collection of items.

A stuffed Minnie Mouse.
Minnie Mouse pajamas.
A Bible.
A book.
A toy.
A bag.

But to one little girl, it meant so much more.

It meant that when her world changed unexpectedly, someone was ready for her.

It meant a warm bath after a long day.
Soft pajamas to change into.
A cuddly friend to hold close.
A story to read.
A toy to play with.
A Bible to remind her that she is loved and never alone.

These items were waiting for her as she was welcomed into our home before heading to placement.

In moments filled with uncertainty, the smallest comforts can make the biggest difference. A favorite character. A soft blanket. A bedtime story. A familiar routine.

This is what your generosity makes possible. Because of this community, children who enter care don't have to face those first difficult hours empty-handed. Instead, they are met with comfort, dignity, and love. YOU make this possible.

A story from an open home ❤️

A sweet 5 year old girl arrived at the Isaiah 117 House carrying two oversized bunny stuffies named Bubblegum and Rainbow. In the middle of so much change, uncertainty, and transition, those bunnies stayed close by her side.

When she left for a kinship placement, the bunnies were accidentally left behind. But instead of simply mailing them to her, one of our staff members went above and beyond, giving Bubblegum and Rainbow one last adventure.

The bunnies went on many adventures around the house, their journey captured with a Polaroid. Along with the photos, our staff member also wrote a note to our girl, letting her know her bunnies missed her very much and couldn’t wait to see her again. It took some time for everything to come together, and by the time it shipped, it had been about a week. But as we know, God’s timing is perfect.

After traveling all the way to their new home through the mail, Bubblegum and Rainbow arrived and wouldn't you know... God scheduled their very special arrival on the day of our girl’s birthday!! Her sweet caregiver later called us to share that she was absolutely overjoyed.

Moments like these remind us that caring for children goes far beyond meeting physical needs. Sometimes it also looks like protecting the small, meaningful pieces of childhood that matter so deeply during seasons of transition and change. What a beautiful gift.

✨ Can't steal our joy! ✨

This community—YOU—show up every single time.

We post a need, and it's met. Sometimes the need is met before we even have to ask because God already knows exactly what is needed to serve the children, social workers, and families who walk through our doors.

A few weeks ago, some incredible women from Antioch Baptist Church stopped by with an abundance of blessings: clothes, pajamas, shoes, pillowcases, snacks, and gift cards. What a gift!

Every week we meet individuals, churches, businesses, and community groups who want to do something. Sometimes that's collecting needed items. Sometimes it's making blankets or pillowcases. Sometimes it's volunteering in our home. Sometimes it's hosting a lemonade stand or fundraiser in the community.

The truth is, we don't always know exactly what each group wants to do or what resources they have to offer. What we do know is this:

Today, we want to recognize someone who would never ask for the spotlight but is so deserving of it.

For nearly two years, Carla has faithfully served behind the scenes, helping lead our Thank You Note Team with joy, dedication, and a heart full of love for Isaiah 117 House Johnston County. Through countless handwritten notes, she has helped ensure that our supporters, donors, and community partners know how deeply appreciated they are.

We are also incredibly grateful for EVERY person who has served on our Thank You Note Team—both past and present. Your willingness to take the time to write, encourage, and express gratitude on behalf of this ministry truly makes a difference and is such a blessing to our staff and organization. You all are amazing!!

Today we’re sending an extra special thank you to Carla. She is a true gem with one of the kindest hearts you'll ever meet. Her faithfulness, encouragement, and genuine love for people shines through in everything she does. The number of cards, notes, and words of encouragement she has sent over the years is truly countless, and her service has blessed this ministry more than she knows.

Carla, thank you for loving this ministry so well and for helping us make sure others feel appreciated. We are beyond grateful for you. ♥️
