Learn the Way of Faith

The just shall live by faith. —Galatians 3:11

Here God tells us for a second time that the just shall live by faith. In order for you to “live” by faith, there must be some teaching and training in the “how-to” of faith. People make a living in the natural as doctors, electricians, plumbers, builders, and many other occupations, but none will be successful without training. Many go to school for years and spend a lot of money to be able to live and survive and thrive in their jobs. Yet people in the Church spend little time to study and become proficient in their spiritual way of life—faith. We need to discover what faith is, how we get it, how we use it, what it will do, and why it is important. Faith to a believer is a way of life, not a subject or a topic. Faith is not a way of getting things from God; it is a way of living in and enjoying what God has already given us. I live by faith! I raise my children by faith, I work at my job by faith, I handle my money by faith, and I live by faith in my marriage. I make every decision by faith, I think faith, I talk faith, and my entire life is sustained by faith. Why? Because faith is God’s way—faith is the best way. Make a decision today to live by faith. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how you can live in the Word and let the Word live in you (John 15:7). He is the Spirit of faith, and He desires for you to live a life of faith.

A New Way to Live

Now the just shall live by faith. —Hebrews 10:38

On the day you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you were justified by His blood (Romans 5:9). You were made righteous and just before God. Sin is no longer separating you from an intimate relationship with God. You have been made just, or innocent, in His sight. The born-again person, or the just person, should now live in a different way. The just shall live, or have his life sustained, by faith. Faith is simply putting God and His Word in first place in your life. Believing what God has said about you, others, and the circumstances will take you to a place of living beyond the natural, beyond the ordinary. So if we are to live by faith and not just try it out, we need to study about faith and learn about it every day of our lives. The just can live in many ways, but in order to live on top, to live in victory, to live pleasing to God—the just shall live by faith. Begin to study about faith; learn to live God’s way. The old way of life will no longer work for you. God has made a new way of life available to the believer—His way, the higher way, the best way. The just shall live by faith!

Live the High Life

Even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. —Romans 6:4–5

This new person who has been raised and seated has been made in the likeness of Jesus. Not the Jesus who walked the earth before the cross, but the resurrected Lord and Savior. You were created after God in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24), you have become one spirit with God (1 Corinthians 6:17), and “as he is, so are [you] in this world” (1 John 4:17). You are as He is right here in this world. You are not only like Him in spiritual makeup or nature, but you are like Him in spiritual position. The same authority He has is the authority you have. The same power He has is the same power you have. The same position He has—“far above”—is the same position you have. You have been raised by the glory of the Father, in the likeness of Christ, to live in a fresh, new life! Here is where weakness is a thing of the past. Inability is no longer a problem. Little problems and circumstances that held you back before must now bow to your rights and authority in God. If you don’t like your life—change it. Don’t like your marriage? Change it! Don’t like your health or finances? Change them! Get a heavenly perspective on who you are and where you are seated. Look at things from a position of a “far above” new creation! Don’t come down and participate in small thinking and small talking! Sit down once and for all at the right hand of the Father and act like a far-above, resurrected, likeness-of-Christ person. Your new walk is on top of everything that used to hold you back! You are far above!

Dare to Be the New You

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. —Romans 6:4

Your old man was buried with Christ; he is dead and gone. You have been raised with Christ by the glory of the Father. When Jesus was raised from the dead, the same glory that hit His lifeless body hit you when you were raised with Him. The same God-power that infused Jesus infused you at the new birth. Not only were you given the power of God and the glory of God, but you were also raised and seated far above! With all this freely given to you, Paul declares that you should live and walk in newness of life. This new life is a life of power, a life of authority, a life of victory, a life no longer subject to this world and sin and sickness and evil forces. The only place now for the curse is under your feet—you have been raised and seated to walk (daily) in a newness of life. As long as you keep the old, weak, sinful Adam-man in the grave, you will live in a newness of life. Thoughts will come to attack your mind to get you to see yourself as not raised, not seated, and with no authority: “I’m unworthy” thoughts, “poor me” thoughts, “why doesn’t God help me” thoughts, “I can’t” thoughts will try to pull you out of your heavenly seat. Cast them down! Do not think on them for a second! You are raised! You are seated! You are far above! Whether you feel like it or not does not matter! Dare to believe the Word; dare to take your seat; dare to rule and reign. Dare to walk and live in a new life. Dare to be a new creation.

You Have the Authority to Rule

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. —Ephesians 1:22–23

When Jesus was raised and seated far above all things, the Church, or the body of Christ, was raised and seated far above all things. The rulership of this earth has been placed into the hands of the body of Christ—into your hands. Due to a lack of knowledge, many Christians still live as victims and losers in the earth when they have been given a position of authority and victory. Many ask themselves, Why doesn’t God do something about sickness and poverty, about the devil and demons? If God is a loving God, why doesn’t He do something? The world is in a mess! The world is in a mess because the Church is in a mess. God has already done all He is going to do about sickness and poverty. He has already defeated the devil and demons. But He has also given to the Church, His body, the authority and dominion to enforce the defeat of demons and the curse. We (you) have been raised! We (you) have been seated! We (you) have been placed far above! Not so that God could rule and reign, but so that we (you!) could rule and reign (Romans 5:17; Luke 10:19). God has restored to mankind everything that man lost in the Garden and more. The problem is that we are failing to use our God-given authority, much like how Adam failed to use it in the Garden. We want God to do it; we want God to resist the devil; we want God to heal the sick. But He will not do it—He gave you the position and the authority to do it in Him. This last generation will start to take advantage of their new identity and their new position and be seen as ruling over the forces of darkness. You can be a part— you have been seated.

How’s the View?

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. —Ephesians 2:6

You have learned that when Jesus was crucified, your old man was crucified; when Jesus died, your old man died; and when Jesus was buried, your old man was buried. You are no longer the same person you used to be. The old man has passed away, and you must associate and identify with his death. But now, in this verse, you discover that the burial of the old man was not the end; there was also a raising up of a new you, a new spiritual species of being, when Christ was raised from the dead. When He was raised, you were raised, and when He was seated at the right hand of the Father, you were seated at the right hand of the Father. Everything that Jesus did, He did for mankind—He did for you! His life, death, and resurrection were to benefit fallen mankind, to bring us out of the bo***ge and up from under the curse that Adam had placed on us. God did not need the cross, the angels did not need it, but mankind had to be killed and then reborn spiritually into a place of dominion and rulership. God’s original plan of making us in His image and likeness has never changed. His plan of man having authority and dominion has never changed. It was man who sinned and fell out of God’s perfect will for him. So God sent Jesus to die, to be buried—but also to be raised and seated—so you could be raised and seated with Him!

With Whom Are You Being Seen?

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. —Galatians 3:27

The day you received Jesus as Lord and Savior, you were given the ability to put on Christ. Christ in you, the hope of glory, can be allowed to shine through you to a place where you are hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). People will be able to see what (and who) you are wearing, and they will be interested in where you got it! “Are those new shoes? Where did you buy them?” “You are always in peace and always joyful—why are you that way?” You can then tell them, “It’s because I have learned to put on Christ! I received Him at the new birth, and now I am wearing Him.” You no longer should identify with your heritage—Greek, Jewish, Italian, Irish; and you should no longer identify with your sex—male or female (Galatians 3:28); but you are now Christ’s, “Abraham’s seed, and an heir according to the promise” (verse 29). The real you has been transformed after God into the image of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have become one spirit with the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:17). The more you identify with His nature in you, His power in you, His knowledge in you, His wisdom in you, Him in you, the more you will put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Soon the storms will listen to you. The waves will stop roaring, and the winds will stop blowing. Demons will respond to you as they responded to Christ, and sickness and disease will go. You have now “put on Christ”! You have put on the new man. You are now obeying the Word. The Word has called you righteous, holy, redeemed, healed, blessed, filled, and victorious. You are choosing to be that way, to talk that way, to think that way. You have put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and He is being seen in you!

Are You Spending Time at the Mirror?

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. —1 Peter 3:3–4

Peter is trying to take your focus off the natural and put it onto the real person you are now—the new, born-again you—your spirit! He is not saying that it is wrong to style your hair, or wear makeup, or have gold jewelry or nice clothes—he is saying not to make them your priority. Concentrate on the real you—the hidden person of the heart. Build up your new self, make your new self strong, and adorn yourself with righteousness, holiness, and a meek and quiet spirit. There is not enough makeup in the world to cover up a weak and confused spirit. Spend your time putting on the new you, the powerful you, the Christlike you. In the sight of God, this is of great price! Natural things, like gold and makeup and good clothing, come with a great price. We—men and women alike—spend much of our time and money to look our best. To look good spiritually will also cost you something—time: time in prayer, time in the Word, time in the presence of God, time to put on the new you. Gold is corruptible and will pass away! Makeup is corruptible and will wash away. Even the clothes we are so proud of today will be out of date soon. But the real you—the hidden man of the heart— can be clothed daily; this inward man can be renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16). Spend some time putting on and being transformed by the Holy Spirit through the Word (2 Corinthians 3:18).
