Got Milk?

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby.
—1 Peter 2:2

Here is the key to spiritual growth: the Word of God. When you received Jesus as Savior, there was a desire put in you for the Word of God. Much like milk in the natural helps a baby to grow, the Word of God will grow you up spiritually in the things of the Spirit. The Word is your spirit food, and what you eat will make a difference in your life. Tradition and religion will bind you and keep you a child, but the pure milk of the Word will grow you, or give you progress, in your salvation. Never lose your hunger for the Word! Sometimes you may have to force-feed yourself because of your feelings and emotions, but your desire will follow your attention! Sit under the Word every time you have a chance; get good CDs and online teach- ings that will help you grow. The Word is God speaking to you, so listen to it and act upon it. Soon you will not only have life, but life more abundantly; soon you will not only be saved, but you will come into the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). The more truth you receive, the freer you will become (John 8:31–32). The freer you become, the greater the potential you will have to free others. Desire the milk of the Word!

In Spite of Other Voices

Make thee an ark of gopher wood. —Genesis 6:14

God came and spoke to Noah, telling him to make an ark. Noah was one of the few people left on the earth who were walking with God and were still able to hear His voice. But this command of God to make an ark had to test Noah’s obedience to God. An ark? A great big ark, large enough to house his family and many animals? An ark in a place where it had never rained before? (Genesis 2:5–6). An undertaking that would take a long time to complete? What would others say? What would his family say? “Why are you building an ark? Why are you wasting your time? It doesn’t rain! There is no water where you are building it!” “Did you hear about Noah? He believes God told him to build an ark, to get two of every living creature onto the boat. He always was a little weird, a little different from the rest of us.” “He claims it is going to rain and flood the earth. Poor old Noah!” Noah could have easily said, “God, You make the rain start, and then I will build an ark.” But God told him to build it before the rain started. The day the rains came, the day the Flood began, you can bet that Noah was glad he obeyed God. In spite of his natural mindset, in spite of the persecution and criticism of others, who was the fool when the rains came? Who was “wasting their time” obeying God then? Noah, make thee an ark.

We are excited to announce that our church website has been updated! We have been working to create a more user-friendly experience, making it easier for our church family, visitors, and followers to navigate the site and stay informed about everything happening at TCVC.

With these updates, we will now be able to share our monthly church calendar, along with flyers and information about upcoming events and activities for each of our ministries. You can also find all of the Sermon Audios, Daily Words, and previous teachings in a more efficient way.

The Inner Witness

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. —Romans 8:16 nkjv

When you were born again, God took the dice out of your hand and put the Holy Ghost in your heart. He is there to lead you and guide you in the right choices. Many people choose to be led by their heads, and they end up in a mess. The Spirit of God will witness with your spirit on a decision, not with your head. You will have the peace that passes all understanding in your heart, even though your head may be arguing with your decision. Trust the inner witness and not the natural evidence, and the Holy Ghost will take you where you need to go.
