💜 September is more than an awareness month—it is an invitation to notice, connect and care.

This month, we recognize:

🦋 National Su***de Prevention Month
💜 National Recovery Month
🩵 CPTSD Awareness Month
🌿 Self-Care Awareness Month

These conversations are deeply connected.

For someone living with trauma, navigating recovery or struggling with their mental health, self-care is not selfish—and it is not always bubble baths and spa days.

Sometimes self-care looks like:

✨ Taking five slow breaths before responding
✨ Eating, resting or taking prescribed medication
✨ Setting a boundary without apologizing
✨ Calling someone safe instead of isolating
✨ Attending a recovery meeting or therapy appointment
✨ Asking for help before reaching a breaking point
✨ Choosing to stay for one more day

Self-care alone does not replace professional treatment or crisis support. However, consistent care can help us recognize overwhelm sooner, regulate the nervous system, strengthen supportive connections and reach for help when we need it.

Prevention begins when people feel seen.
Recovery grows when people feel supported.
Healing becomes possible when shame is replaced with compassion.

Your life matters.
Your recovery matters.
Your story is not over. ❤️‍🔥

What is one act of self-care that helps bring you back to yourself?

If you or someone you know needs immediate emotional support, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Please share this message. Someone in your community may need the reminder that they are not alone.

This is Unbound Courage. 🦋

While September is recognized as Su***de Prevention Month, this critical issue necessitates ongoing attention. We continue to experience the loss of individuals to su***de, frequently due to profound internal struggles often masked by outward appearances of well-being. It is imperative to dismantle the societal stigma associated with mental health challenges and cultivate an understanding that experiencing such difficulties is a normal and acceptable aspect of the human condition. Every individual carries unique personal histories and private struggles. Mental health is not a transient concern confined to a single month; it represents a pervasive global issue. Consequently, a concerted and sustained effort, extending beyond September, is required. Mental health challenges and suicidal ideation are not bound by specific timeframes.

For individuals experiencing difficulties and seeking support, please utilize the national crisis line 988. Reaching out for assistance is a sign of strength, not shame.

Unbound Courage provides support through our team of trained coaches. Our coaches leverage their personal lived experiences to offer guidance. We are committed to fostering a safe, confidential, and faith-based environment, dedicated to supporting individuals aged 10 and above as they navigate their experiences of loss. 💜 In Loving Memory of Every Life Lost to Overdose 💜

As National Overdose Awareness Month comes to a close, we recognize International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31.

Behind every loss is a person who was loved—and family members, friends, and neighbors who continue to carry their grief.

Advocacy saves lives. Education saves lives. Compassion saves lives.

You can make a difference by:

💜 Learning about overdose and its impact on our community
💜 Supporting local organizations that provide awareness and direct services
💜 Carrying naloxone and learning how to use it
💜 Speaking openly and compassionately about substance use
💜 Helping end the stigma that prevents people from seeking support

Let’s remember without judgment, support those who grieve, and continue fighting for those who are still here.

Honor someone today by sharing their name, a memory, or a purple heart in the comments. 💜 Please share this post—one conversation could help save a life.

Today, our crew facilitated mock interviews with participants preparing to reenter the workforce.

During each session, one coach takes the role of the employer while another quietly observes. If a participant becomes activated or overwhelmed, we pause—not to criticize, but to help them recognize their response, regulate their nervous system, and work through the moment with support and education.

We’re not just preparing people to answer interview questions. We’re helping them build confidence, strengthen resilience, and move forward in both recovery and meaningful employment.

This is what trauma-informed, whole-person support looks like.

This is Unbound Courage. ❤️‍🔥
