I am Matti Lousberg, the Chapter Commander's wife. I help with the notifications for meetings and events for the chapter. I am sending out a survey to be done by members so we know who would like what regarding information for the chapter. I am also attaching a link to the page. Today, we proudly celebrate Flag Day and honor the Stars and Stripes—the enduring symbol of our nation's freedom, unity, and resilience.

For nearly 250 years, the American flag has flown over generations of citizens, service members, veterans, and families who have helped shape our country and defend the ideals it represents.

As we look ahead to America’s 250th anniversary, we reflect on the sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms and the promise that continues to unite us as one nation.

Today marks the 78th anniversary of the signing of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act into law by President Truman. It enabled women to serve as permanent, regular members of the military. Although Congress had given the Women’s Army Corps full Army status during wartime in 1943, the WAC law was set to expire on June 30, 1948.

DAV strives to ensure women veterans receive the healthcare they’ve earned through their service, including gender specific care that is unique to women veterans. Learn more at womenveterans.org.
