Rising Up Innovative solutions to help our hungry and homeless neighbors.

Rising Up is devoted to helping our homeless and hungry neighbors by empowering them, helping them transform their situations, and assisting them as they rebuild their lives. We have utilized innovative solutions to provide food and shelter to our hungry and homeless neighbors. Our programs include a Client Choice Food Pantry; a Warming Center that provides overnight shelter during the cold months; a Day Center where we provide meals and services to our homeless neighbors which are designed to help our homeless neighbors secure housing and move their lives forward in a positive direction.

We are so grateful for their help in taking care of the Rising Up van and helping keep us safely on the road! ❤️

Warming Center Floater
Job Description

Position: Warming Center Floater
Season: November 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027
Hours: 3 hours per scheduled evening
Pay: To be discussed
Reports to: Warming Center Night Supervisor / Rising Up Leadership

The Warming Center Floater provides evening support to the Night Supervisor by serving as an additional set of eyes and ears for guest safety, assisting with the evening meal, and completing janitorial and facility-preparation duties before guests arrive.

This position is intended to provide additional support and security during the busiest part of the evening while helping ensure the Warming Center is clean, prepared, and welcoming.

Evening Meal
Prepare and/or organize the evening meal for service.
Set up the dining area.
Serve meals to guests in a respectful and welcoming manner.
Monitor food service and follow applicable food safety practices.
Clean and sanitize meal preparation and serving areas after the meal.
Wash dishes and return kitchen supplies to their proper locations.
Properly store or dispose of leftover food according to Rising Up procedures.

Qualifications
-The ideal candidate will be: Reliable and dependable.
-Comfortable working with people experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
-Respectful, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.
-Able to follow directions and established procedures.
-Comfortable working as part of a small team.
-Able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
-Willing to perform both guest-support and janitorial duties.

Previous experience in food service, janitorial work, shelter services, security, or working with vulnerable populations is helpful but not required.

Rising Up is looking for a dependable, compassionate person to serve as our Night Supervisor for the Warming Center during the 2026–2027 winter season.

Season: November 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027
Pay: to be discussed
Overnight position
Fort Morgan, Colorado

The Night Supervisor is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for guests during overnight hours.

Responsibilities include:
• Supervising the Warming Center during the overnight shift
• Checking guests in and following Warming Center policies
• Maintaining a safe, calm, and respectful environment
• Responding appropriately to conflicts or emergencies
• Completing required nightly records and safety checks
• Communicating important information to Rising Up leadership
• Securing the facility at the end of the evening
• Treating every guest with dignity, compassion, and confidentiality

We are looking for someone who is:
Reliable and dependable
Calm under pressure
Comfortable working independently
Compassionate and respectful toward people experiencing homelessness
Able to follow policies and maintain appropriate boundaries

Experience working with vulnerable populations is preferred. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

HUNGER AWARENESS MONTH MAY BE ENDING, BUT THE NEED DOESN'T.

🥫 HUNGER IS HERE—AND SO IS HOPE.

Hunger isn’t just something that happens somewhere else.

It happens right here in our community.

Families, seniors, individuals, and neighbors can find themselves needing a little extra help putting food on the table. Sometimes it’s because of a job change. Sometimes an unexpected bill. Sometimes there simply isn’t enough income to cover everything.

That’s why Rising Up is here.

No judgment. No shame. Just neighbors helping neighbors.
