Rising Up serves as a host site to assist in outreach, certification and distribution of CSFP food boxes monthly to ensure no senior goes hungry. The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a USDA program designed to improve the health of low-income people at least 60 years of age, by supplementing their diets with nutritious foods. 🎉 Congratulations, Brian! 🎉

Two years ago, Brian and his fiancée moved from Florida to Colorado in search of a new adventure. Arriving just before Christmas, they found themselves staying at our Warming Center while looking for work.

Since then, Brian has faced many challenges, but he never stopped moving forward. This past year, he returned needing support, friendship, and a second chance. He embraced that opportunity by helping remodel our building and participating in our Culinary Work Component Program.

Today, we celebrate Brian's achievement of earning his ServSafe Certification and completing the program! We are incredibly proud of the hard work, growth, and determination he has shown.

This isn't goodbye—it's a celebration of a community member who is now working, volunteering, and making a positive impact on others.

Way to go, Brian! We can't wait to see what comes next. ❤️

🌱 A Huge Thank You! 🌱

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Wendy Blake and the Wiggins FFA for their generous donation of tomato plants to Rising Up!

These plants will be made available to our clients, providing an opportunity to grow fresh, healthy food at home. Along with the plants, we will be offering guidance and tips on planting, growing, and caring for them so participants can enjoy a successful harvest.

When a volunteer leaves, it brings a lot of emotions. Over time, our volunteers become more than just helping hands—they become family.

We feel happiness as they move on to new opportunities, sadness because we will miss them, and gratitude for the time, talent, and heart they shared with us and our community.

Every hour they gave, every smile they shared, and every life they touched helped make Morgan County a better place. We are truly blessed to have had them as part of the Rising Up family.

Summer can be one of the hardest times for families facing food insecurity. During the school year, many children receive breakfast and lunch at school, but once summer begins, household food costs increase significantly. As a result, the need for food assistance rises throughout the summer months.

At Rising Up, we often see an increase in families seeking food support during the summer, making community partnerships and donations essential to helping meet the growing need.
