Drinking the Spay/Neuter Kool-aide in Sanostee, NM (Navajo Nation)!

We were boots on the ground again last weekend fixing and vaccinating a few as we continue grinding to end unwanted litters and the subsequent cruelty, suffering and death that goes with it!

Go to animal control any day of the week and witness the puppies and kittens, moms with babies and others being surrendered and put down and it's enough to keep the wheels in motion towards a more humane outcome!

One vet and a small team can make a big difference in a community and in two very short days, another 73 animals were sterilized and will live litter free lives! Soooo many more were vaccinated to help ward off those ugly viruses that continue to rear their ugly heads. Thank you to those who joined on this life-saving venture!

We are grateful for the partnership with Sanostee Chapter, State of New Mexico Spay Grant, Mug-Z-Moo, Colorado Animal Rescue Express and all of our donors and supporters!

💙 They’ve been waiting long enough. Could you be the forever home Joonior & Rocket have been hoping for? 💙

Meet Joonior & Rocket, a bonded pair who are best buddies and truly inseparable. 🐾

Joonior is a brave, curious boy with a mellow, sweet personality. He started out fearful, but has come such a long way and now welcomes affection with open paws. His gentle nature and growing trust make his journey especially rewarding.

Rocket is a mellow older gentleman who would love nothing more than leisurely walks followed by a cozy couch nap. He walks beautifully on a leash and is perfectly content to stop and relax in the grass when the walk is over.

Together, these two are the perfect pair—gentle, loyal, and happiest when they’re by each other’s side. They’ve already found their best friend in one another. Now they just need a family to complete their story. ❤️

💛 August Adoption Update! 💛

August may have been a slower month for adoptions, but our team worked harder than ever to make a difference for animals who desperately needed us.

While adoption numbers were down, the need certainly wasn’t. The need on the reservations continues to be enormous, with countless animals waiting for medical care, safety, foster homes, and a second chance. That means we keep showing up—no matter what the numbers look like.

And today, we’re celebrating 147 animals who found their forever homes in August!

That’s 147 lives changed. 147 families made whole. 147 animals who are no longer waiting.

Every adoption is something worth celebrating, especially when we know how much work goes into getting each animal to that moment. From the teams rescuing them, to our medical staff, fosters, volunteers, coordinators, and adopters—you all played a part in making these 147 happy endings possible.

So here’s to 147 forever homes and to continuing to fight for the animals who are still waiting. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we’re not slowing down.

Thank you for standing with Soul Dog Rescue and helping us keep saying YES to the animals who need us most.

This is absolutely incredible!! Thank you so much to everyone that donated and shared our posts about our calendar contest! Look out for calendar sales!!

These are just a few of the faces of the animals we rescued this weekend.

Many are scared and would greatly benefit from a foster. We understand that not everyone is able to foster right now but you can still help support us by volunteering, donating and sharing our posts on social media.
