UPDATE 7:20PM: The emergency vet is extremely concerned and said this is very serious. She mentioned possible end of life! He was fine 12 hours ago! I'm sobbing

Original post:
I'm at the emergency vet with Shoogly Ned. His neurological symptoms got suddenly worse this morning. I had him at work with me to monitor him closely (video from earlier this afternoon) and was in communication with his neurologist throughout the day. But his symptoms continued to progress as the day went on and now he can't even sit up or stand up. He peed his bed twice and won't eat or drink.

I'm in the waiting room and he is being evaluated right now. I know he's a tough fella but I'm very worried. This is his second ER visit in less than 2 months.

Send healing thoughts his way, please. And any size donation to our 501c3 non-profit sanctuary The Queen's Hound will help with Ned's ER bill.

~ Gimli & Arwen ~

I adopted Gimli at the end of summer 2022 from . He was 11 years old at the time and had spent his entire life outside in a kennel as a stud for a wretched commercial puppy mill breeder in Kansas. Arwen was so depressed she wouldn't get off the couch after her best pal 🌈Bean (blue heeler) passed away. So I adopted Gimli to give her a job and a companion of equal size/ability to help her through her grief.

Gimli did not have a clue how to be a dog, so he attached himself to Arwen and copied everything she did. It turned out to be a match made in heaven (thanks, 🌈Bean🩵).

I'm Diana Hermann, also affectionately referred to as The Mother of Dogs by some of our social media supporters, and founder of The The Queen's Hound Sanctuary. I take in the unwanted dogs and cats ... the ones that wait and wait for home, who get overlooked or ignored by everyone else, the elderly, and the special needs animals. It's an enormous amount of work every day. And it takes all my resources.

Friends, this wee boy needs our help. He was confiscated by police from a bad situation. They think he has traumatic brain injury. He is currently safe with one of our favorite rescues (Harley's House of Dreams). He has some significant neurological issues and the rescue reached out to me and asked if he can live out his senior years here at our sanctuary (The Queen's Hound) - they know our brand of love and care is exactly what he needs to be able to enjoy his best life.

Harley's Dream will get him all the initial veterinary card he needs before we adopt him, but, like all our dogs, he'll need regular veterinary care. I can't commit to taking him into our sanctuary unless I can raise some funding. Our dogs Stewie, Hamish, and Squidgy have expensive diagnostic procedures (for cardiology) and dental surgeries already scheduled that will deplete our current funds.

Can you help? "Helping" can mean direct donation, but it also means sharing our social media with your friends to help get word out about our sanctuary. Mr. Murray has dementia (canine cognitive dysfunction / CCD) and gets quite agitated at times. His confusion is compounded by his blindness and near deafness (poor little dude). It brings him immeasurable comfort when one of the other dogs is snuggled up next to him. Stewie has been comforting Mr. Murray a lot this weekend. Stewie just knows when someone needs a bit of brotherly love. 🩵💙
