These events are built for people to have a good time, in a relaxed environment, with easy conversations that will leave you feeling genuinely glad you came.

A lot of folks tell us they were surprised by how much the community there meant to them. They didn’t realize it was something they were missing.

So come out for community, for resources, to support your local military population, to enjoy the music, food and local crafts. Whatever you do, just come out!

It’s a free day in a small town where the people who can actually help are all sitting in one room. We ask you to check in at the gate so we can keep the lights on and make the next one better, and that’s the only hoop. Bring some cash if you want lunch or something from the farm market, but you can have a full day without spending a dollar. Free kids activities and all. Come as you are.

This isn’t an event. It’s not just a resource fair. It’s the community you forgot existed and the piece you didn’t realize you were missing. For veterans. For spouses. For children. For the entire community who supports them.

If you’re a veteran out in a rural area, you already know the problem. The help you earned is real. It’s just almost never close by, and figuring out where to start can be its own barrier.

That’s the whole reason we exist. Operation Honor: Rural Salute brings events straight into rural towns, connecting veterans and their families to resources, organizations, and community. No three-hour drive. No phone tree. Just real people, ready to help you find your next step.

We’re not here to hand out slogans. We’re here to close the gap between “the help exists” and “you can actually get to it.”

Follow along, and if you know a veteran in a rural area who could use this, send it their way.

Chewin’ the fat on a new front porch with Jim Whaley!

Come to our big ol’ front porch July 25 at Gettysburg Rec Park with over 50 vendors, panels, food trucks, petting zoo and so much more. The VA will be on site to assist and answer questions!

Make sure you check out Mission Roll Call while you’re there and learn why your voice is so important in shaping policy and the future for veterans.
