They could’ve slept in… but they showed up to serve! ⏰🥪💙

I asked these Penn State volunteers what time they woke up this morning—and let’s just say, serving others started before they even walked through the doors! 😂🙌

Different alarms, different distances, and one shared purpose: helping our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Thank you for showing up early at St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church with willing hands and these beautiful smiles! ❤️

Together with all of today’s volunteers, we made over 9,100 sandwiches that were delivered to more than 25 homeless shelters! 🥪🚚

Every sandwich takes helping hands—and every volunteer makes a difference. May God bless everyone who helped prepare, pack, and deliver today!

FRIDAY FUNDAY with our homies! 😂🎤💃🏽❤️

Sometimes outreach looks like food, clothes and resources… and sometimes it looks like YMCA, dancing, karaoke, a little preaching and a whole lot of laughter. 😂❤️

Gabby kicked it off dancing, Cheryl was doing what she loves to do, our homies grabbed the microphone, and right in the middle of all the fun came a reminder from Proverbs 3:5–6: trust in the Lord and don’t lean on your own understanding. 🙏🏽

Then we finished with another song and a round of applause. 👏🏽🎤

These are the moments that remind us that outreach is also about friendship, joy, encouragement and simply spending time together.

👟❤️ In our last video, we asked, “How many pairs of shoes are sitting in your closet?”

But for real, how many pairs of shoes do you have sitting in your closet? 👞👟🥾🥿🤔

We had a little fun with our volunteers making the last video, but the need for men's shoes is real.

Someone came to us wearing shoes that were literally falling apart. ☹️💔 Then, a gently used pair of Adidas shoes that had been donated to us found a new home. 😊

A pair of shoes sitting in your closet may not mean much to you anymore, but to someone else, they can mean comfort, protection, dignity, and a fresh start.

Have shoes you’re no longer wearing?
Give your shoes a new story. Donate them and help someone take their next step with dignity.

Men’s shoes are especially needed. DM us to donate your gently used shoes.

We asked our volunteers a simple question… how many pairs of shoes do you have, and when was the last time you cleaned out your closet?🤔🤪

Of course, our volunteers had to turn it into a little comedy!

🥪❤️ OVER 9,000 SANDWICHES MADE & DELIVERED!

What a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together with a heart to serve. 🙌🏼

This weekend, we were blessed to have Loyola students, Angel visiting from Iceland, Sam from Nigeria, volunteers from Brazil, and so many others who gave their time to help make a difference.

Different countries. Different backgrounds. One mission 👍🏻serving others. ❤️🌎

A special shoutout to Melvin, who is featured in this video and personally delivered sandwiches to three different locations! 🙌🏼 Thank you for going the extra mile and helping us get the job done.

The more helping hands we have, the more we can accomplish together. We are so grateful for every volunteer who continues to support HTS, Guiding Light of Hope, and the communities we serve.

While most people were still sleeping… Bill and some of our amazing volunteers were already up and ready to serve! 😂🥪❤️

Steve even woke up around 3:00–3:30 AM 😴 and came all the way from Elgin! 🙌🏼

🥪❤️ SETUP IS DONE — NOW WE’RE READY FOR TOMORROW!

We unloaded the truck, got everything ready, and our volunteers put in the work tonight.
