🐄🌽 4-H Market Livestock Nutrition Workshop 🌽🐄
Looking to boost your knowledge AND earn points toward selling at the fair? Don’t miss this great opportunity!
Join us on Thursday, June 25 at 5:00 PM at the Fond du Lac County Campus (FCC), 400 University Dr., Room 205/206 for an interactive workshop focused on Fair Animal Nutrition and Care.
🎤 Guest Speaker: Mike Yahr
Mike will share valuable insights on feeding and caring for your market livestock—and he welcomes questions from youth, so come ready to learn!
🧪 Hands-On Experience:
Youth will wrap up the workshop by creating their own feed rations after learning the basics of market livestock nutrition—perfect for applying what you learn right away!
✅ Bonus: This workshop is a great way to earn 2 points if you still need points to sell at the fair.

🎡 The countdown to the Fond du Lac County Fair is on!
The Fond du Lac County Fair Office will open for the season beginning Tuesday, June 9. Our office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

🌍✈️ Pack your bags—it’s time for a world adventure!
Join us as we travel the globe and explore different cultures without leaving camp! Campers will dive into fun activities like sports and geography games, listen to music from around the world, create cultural crafts, and even taste traditional foods.
Each day, we’ll visit two different countries—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—collecting passport stamps along the way. By the end of camp, participants will have earned 6 unique stamps! 🛂✨
Along the journey, youth will also learn about each country’s history, customs, and language, making this an unforgettable cultural experience.

We still have about 10 plants that need a home! You can pick up a giant pumpkin plants from the Extension office, courtesy of Mike Schmit and the Wisconsin Giant Pumpkin Growers (WGPG). Contact the office by June 8 to pick one up! The plants are pictured below!

Cloverbuds can enter their pumpkins in the Cloverbud Pumpkin Contest on October 10.

Youth of all ages can enter their pumpkin in the Great Pumpkin Weigh Off at Fondy FallToberFest!

🎉 Meet Our 4-H Summer Intern, Makayla! 🎉
Please help us welcome back Makayla Stommel as our 4-H Summer Intern at the Extension Office this summer! 🌟

Makayla is a former 12-year Fond du Lac County 4-H member who was actively involved in her club, Teen Leaders Association, and many county events. Her favorite projects were Arts & Crafts and Food & Nutrition. 🎨🍴

She is a recent UW–Madison graduate with a degree in Elementary Education. Outside of 4-H, Makayla enjoys playing soccer and pickleball, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. ⚽🛍️

This summer, she’ll be helping with Foodie Camp, Art Camp, Cloverbud Day Camp, promotional events, the county fair, and more! Makayla shares, “I’m excited to work with youth and adults this summer while growing my leadership and teaching skills. I’m glad to be back and ready for a great summer!”
