Sophia's vision is "creating caring community" based on Robert Greenleaf’s quote “caring for others.”

Sophia Transformative Leadership Partners believes "caring community" asks individuals, as well as, organizations and communities to co-create environments where leaders and citizens are given opportunities to learn and serve together; to foster hope, and explore possibilities for all people. The Sophia Foundation primarily supports individuals and organizations in the Fond du Lac area by providing learning opportunities that build awareness for, and put into practice, caring leadership practices such as listening, compassion, and servant leadership as a way of creating a more caring community.

The workplaces and communities of 2040 are taking shape in classrooms right now.

On World Teachers' Day, we're grateful for the educators building curiosity and confidence in the next generation of leaders. Brené Brown describes a leader as "anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes."

Teachers live out that definition every school day.

When someone on your team brings you a problem, resist the urge to immediately fix it. Before offering an answer, ask one more question.

Try: “Tell me more.”
Or: “What do you think is really going on?”
Or simply: “What would be most helpful right now?”

Good leaders don't always need to have the answer. Sometimes their most powerful contribution is creating enough space for someone else to find it.

Thank someone on your team for something they did that made your job easier.

Noticing the ways people contribute, especially the things that often go unseen, builds a culture where people know their work matters.

Try saying or writing a note that says: “I noticed you did ___, and it made ___ easier for me. Thank you." Specific appreciation lands differently than a quick “thanks!”
