Our ranch kitties are counting on us, and we’re hoping you can help! ❤️🐱

We’ve placed our most-needed items right at the top of our wishlist, making it easy to see what our kitties need most. But one thing we can never seem to have enough of is FOOD! With over 100 cats to care for, you can imagine how quickly we go through it. Feeding our kitties is one of our biggest ongoing expenses and greatest needs.

Every can, every bag, and every single donation makes a difference. Whether you can send a little or a lot, you’re helping us keep their little bellies full and making sure they receive the love and care they deserve. 🐾❤️

🐾WE’RE STILL PLUGGING AWAY, ONE CAT AT A TIME! 🐾 🚕

Another transport heading up North!🐈‍⬛

We want to remind everyone that we’re still working hard to get cats out of Louisiana and Mississippi and into loving homes where they will finally be safe, cared for, and cherished. Every cat deserves a chance at a better life, and we’re not giving up on them and we need YOUR help!

🚐 OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL: $1,000!

We’re hoping to raise $1,000 to help offset 50% of our transportation costs so we can continue moving cats ❤️ Expenses add up QUICKLY! Multiple stops for gas along the way costing hundreds!

Before these cats can make their journey, they need proper veterinary care, including:

🐾 Vaccinations
🐾 Flea treatment and dewormer
🐾 Spay/neuter surgery
🐾 Diagnostic testing

These expenses add up very fast and between medical care and transportation, helping these cats start fresh is no small undertaking. But every dollar brings us one step closer to giving them the lives they deserve. We can’t do this alone!

From Skeptical to Spoiled: A Sukie Love Story 🐾❤️

When Sukie came to us back in March 2017 as a transfer from a partner shelter, we knew she just needed time and a second chance to find her true person. Fast forward to July 2018, when Michelle and her husband stepped in—and it was absolute soul connection from day one!

Michelle shared this hilarious and heart-melting update with us:

"My husband insisted on getting Sukie. It took three ladies to get her in a carrier, and three weeks to get her out of the bathroom once she got home…

Now? She follows my husband EVERYWHERE—even waiting outside the shower! He built her a custom Catio that connects right to our window. Can anyone spell SPOILED?"

Sukie has officially become her dad’s constant companion, proving that the patient ones often hold the biggest place in our hearts.

Meet Talbot: Our Resident Casanova

Name Origin: Found behind a Talbots store

Personality: Total lap warmer, affectionate romantic, and snuggle hog

Talbot’s life started out under rough circumstances when he was rescued behind a Talbots store, with matted, filthy fur, and desperately in need of help. It was soon discovered that Talbot has Manx Syndrome, a genetic condition that prevents him from being able to control his bowel movements. Because of his special physical needs, he was consistently overlooked for traditional adoption - and Big Sky Ranch became his permanent home.

Despite his rough start and chronic condition, Talbot is an absolute "Casanova kitty." He is extraordinarily sweet and craves human affection above all else. The moment you lay a blanket over your lap, Talbot will climb right up, settle in, and refuse to leave for as long as you’ll have him. In fact, he’s so devoted to his cuddle time that he’ll happily shoo away any other cats who try to steal his spotlight!

To manage his Manx Syndrome and keep his digestive system moving safely, Talbot relies on daily, lifelong medications that are quite costly.

Meet Isabella: The Ultimate Purr-sonal Assistant

Personality: Sweet snuggle bug, loud purrer, and dedicated office helper

Isabella originally found herself at a vet clinic after being surrendered for her "attitude." When she first arrived at Big Sky Ranch, she was defensive toward both people and other cats. But with time, safety, and understanding, Bella quickly let her guard down. Today, she has completely transformed into a total snuggle bug who purrs loudly the moment you give her attention! While she still prefers people over her feline roommates, she now peacefully tolerates other cats.

Isabella is also our self-appointed "Purr-sonal Assistant." Whether she’s curling up on the chair with you, falling asleep right on top of the notebook you’re trying to write in, or lounging right next to the computer while you work, Bella insists on being part of whatever you’re doing!

At 14 years young, Isabella is dealing with some significant dental challenges stemming from past dental work that left painful root bulbs behind. She requires an upcoming surgery to remove them, along with ongoing daily medical care - including a wet-food-only diet, steroids, and lifelong antiviral medications.

Despite living with dental pain and having only her canine teeth left, Isabella’s sweet and loving spirit shines through every single day. Stripes came to Big Sky Ranch in a race against time. His original caregivers noticed he was declining and rushed him to a clinic, where he was diagnosed with diabetes and diabetic neuropathy—a painful nerve condition caused by high blood sugar. Facing an overwhelming estimate of $400 a month for his treatments, his family was turned away unable to afford his care, leaving Stripes on death's door with blood glucose levels soaring in the 800s.

Desperate to save him, his family reached out to Big Sky Ranch. Our medical team immediately took Stripes in, stabilized his blood sugar, and began treatment for his neuropathy. Though it broke his family's heart, they surrendered him to the sanctuary so he could receive the lifelong medical care they couldn't provide.

Today, Stripes is a reserved, skittish boy who prefers a quiet life. While he might hide when visitors enter his cottage, he occasionally enjoys a gentle pet from a patient friend. But when the room empties out, his true personality shines—he can often be found curled up on the rug, comfortably snuggled side-by-side with his best friend and fellow diabetic cottage-mate, Bennie!

Bennie’s story is one of a quiet cry for help that saved his life. For a long time, he lived as a shy "driveway cat," fed by a kind elderly couple who could never get close enough to touch him. But one day, Bennie was found lying in the driveway, completely unbothered when people approached. Knowing something was terribly wrong, his feeders rushed him to Big Sky Ranch.

Tests revealed Bennie’s blood glucose was in the dangerous 800s—a life-threatening diabetic crisis. Our team immediately went to work, diagnosing his diabetes, stabilizing him, and starting him on a strict management plan.

Once Bennie started feeling like himself again, his feral instincts returned, making it impossible for his original feeders to administer his daily medical care. Today, Bennie lives comfortably in a cozy cottage shared with his best friend, Stripes—another shy diabetic cat who understands his lifestyle!
