Adaptive Therapy / Hippotherapy / Veterans & First Responder Programs New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998. We are a the only PATH premier therapeutic equestrian center in the state of Louisiana. We are dedicated to positively impacting lives through our life changing equine therapy. We help people who have physical, cognitive, and emotional dif

ficulties reach their full potential. We serve a wide variety of groups and individuals in our community and beyond. Our facility is located on eight beautiful acres adjacent to Summergrove Polo Farms in Folsom, Louisiana. We also have access to 22 acres of wooded riding trails across from our property for our riders to enjoy. We have a fully handicap accessible facility with a covered arena and a 16 stall barn. Our arena is equipped with a wheelchair accessible ramp and a lift, which can hold up to 1,200 pounds to assist wheelchair bound clients to mount the horse. We operate with the help of our community, volunteers, and generous donors who support our mission every day. We invite you to schedule a tour our facility and get involved! Not all lessons look the same. Some days we leave the saddle in the tack room and just spend time with each other. Horses are known to act as natural mirrors; helping calm and ground human emotion. Sometimes just sharing the same space is all you need.

Watching Gina’s journey with Smokey has been nothing short of incredible. Through Smokey’s steady heart, gentle spirit, and patient partnership, Gina has grown in both skill and confidence in ways that shine every time she rides. What once may have felt uncertain has blossomed into independence, determination, and trust between horse and rider. Now, seeing Gina ride independently on Smokey is such a beautiful reminder of the healing, growth, and confidence that can come through the bond between a participant and a therapeutic horse. Smokey hasn’t just carried Gina in the arena — he has helped carry her toward greater confidence in herself. Way to go, Gina! And a huge thank you to her volunteer, Emily!
