🔥 Structure Fire - Kepley Road 🔥

Yesterday evening at approximately 7:44 PM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters responded to 3917 Kepley Road for a reported structure fire.

Floyd County Fire Territory units arrived first and determined that the fire had been extinguished prior to arrival. Crews checked the residence for any extension and ventilated the structure to remove remaining smoke.

The homeowner was quick to act after discovering that the vinyl siding on the residence had caught fire. Using a fire extinguisher and garden hose, the homeowner was able to successfully extinguish the fire before fire department personnel arrived on scene.

This incident is a great reminder of the importance of having working fire extinguishers readily available and knowing how to use them. The homeowner’s quick actions helped prevent the fire from spreading and causing further damage to the home!

🚨 MVA - 5600 Fertig Creek Rd 🚨

Shortly before 10:00 PM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters were dispatched to the 5600 block of Fertig Creek Road for reports of a motor vehicle accident.

Crews arrived on scene to find a single vehicle that had struck a telephone pole and come to rest on its side. Fortunately, all occupants had safely exited the vehicle prior to our arrival and were not complaining of any injuries.

The driver was evaluated on scene by Highlander Squad 3, and one signature of refusal was obtained.

We are grateful this incident ended without serious injuries. We would also like to remind everyone to always wear your seatbelt and drive attentively — unexpected situations can happen in an instant, and simple safety measures can make all the difference. 🚒🚑

🔥 Vehicle Fire – S. Skyline & Spickert K**b Rd. 🔥

This evening at 8:50 PM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of S. Skyline & Spickert K**b Rd. for a reported vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, crews found an SUV fully involved in fire. Fortunately, all occupants had safely exited the vehicle prior to our arrival and were uninjured.

Firefighters quickly deployed a hose line and brought the fire under control, successfully extinguishing the vehicle without the fire extending to any nearby vegetation.

We are thankful no injuries were reported and would like to remind everyone that if your vehicle catches fire, safely pull over, exit immediately, move a safe distance away, and call 911. Never attempt to open the hood of a burning vehicle, as doing so can rapidly intensify the fire.

🚨 MVA - HWY 150 & Navilleton Rd 🚨

This morning at 6:50 AM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of HWY 150 & Navilleton Road.

Crews arrived to find two vehicles involved in the collision, with all occupants safely out of their vehicles upon arrival. Firefighters secured the scene and assisted with patient care while ensuring the area was safe for everyone involved.

Highlander Squad 3 evaluated two patients on scene, and both patients signed refusals after evaluation.

As always, we encourage motorists to use extra caution during the morning commute, remain alert, and watch for emergency personnel working along our roadways. 🚒🚑

🚨 MVA - Arthur Coffman & Jersey Park 🚨

This morning at 11:06 AM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Arthur Coffman Rd. and Jersey Park Rd.

Upon arrival, crews found both vehicles had left the roadway, with one SUV coming to rest inverted on its roof. Fortunately, all occupants had safely exited their vehicles prior to emergency crews arriving on scene.

Firefighters secured the scene, assessed the patients, and assisted with patient care. Highlander Squad 3 transported two patients to Baptist Health Floyd for further evaluation, while Highlander Squad 1 evaluated one additional patient on scene and obtained a signature of refusal.

We would like to remind everyone to stay alert while traveling, especially when approaching intersections. Taking a few extra seconds to slow down and look carefully can help prevent serious crashes.🚒🚑

🚨 Mutual Aid Request - Duke Substation Fire 🚨

🔥 Structure Fire - Georgetown-Greenville Road 🔥

Tonight at 10:41 PM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 6031 Georgetown-Greenville Road.

Crews arrived on scene to find a barn fully involved in fire with a partial collapse already occurring. Firefighters quickly deployed handlines and began suppression operation to bring the fire under control and prevent further extension.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

We would like to thank Floyd County Fire Territory for their assistance and support on scene, as well as Palmyra Fire Dept for their water supply support via tanker shuttle. Incidents like these are a reminder of the importance of strong mutual aid partnerships and teamwork throughout our community! 🚒
