🚨 Mutual Aid Request - Duke Substation Fire 🚨

🔥 Structure Fire - Georgetown-Greenville Road 🔥

Tonight at 10:41 PM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 6031 Georgetown-Greenville Road.

Crews arrived on scene to find a barn fully involved in fire with a partial collapse already occurring. Firefighters quickly deployed handlines and began suppression operation to bring the fire under control and prevent further extension.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

We would like to thank Floyd County Fire Territory for their assistance and support on scene, as well as Palmyra Fire Dept for their water supply support via tanker shuttle. Incidents like these are a reminder of the importance of strong mutual aid partnerships and teamwork throughout our community! 🚒

🚨 MVA - Borden & Rufing Rd 🚨

This afternoon at 4:08 PM, the Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of Borden Road and Rufing Road for a reported iPhone Crash Detection activation.

Crews arrived in the area and quickly located a single vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree. Fortunately, the driver was able to exit the vehicle and was evaluated on scene by Highlander Squad 3. One signature of refusal was obtained, and no transport was required.

While many iPhone Crash Detection activations are accidental and often result in no emergency being found, today’s incident serves as an important reminder that these alerts can indicate a serious accident and should always be taken seriously. We are grateful this incident resulted in no injuries and thank all responding personnel for their quick response!

🚒 Floyds K***s Elementary- Field Day 🚑

Today, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters have the opportunity to help Floyds K***s Elementary kick off summer break in a fun way!

As students wrap up their final day of school, your firefighters have joined in the excitement by cooling everyone off with a little water!

We would like to thank the staff and administration at Floyds K***s Elementary for inviting us to be part of their Field Day festivities. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and excitement from the students make it a great way to end the school year.

We hope all students, teachers, and staff have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer break. We look forward to seeing everyone again next school year!

🚨 MVA - 3843 Brush College Rd 🚨

This evening at 6:51 PM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters responded to 3843 Brush College Rd for a reported single vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, crews found a single vehicle that had left the roadway and traveled into the nearby woods, ultimately coming to rest on its side. Both occupants were able to safely exit the vehicle prior to crews arriving on scene and were fortunate to escape without any major injuries.

Highlander Squad 1 evaluated both patients on scene, with two signatures of refusal obtained.

We are thankful everyone involved was safe and would like to remind motorists to remain alert and drive cautiously, especially on wet roadways.

🔥 Structure Fire - 1725 Canal Lane 🔥

This morning at 4:41 AM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters responded via mutual aid with Floyd County Fire Territory to a reported camper fire with extension to a structure at 1725 Canal Lane.

Crews arrived on scene to find a camper well involved with fire, with extension into a nearby garage. Firefighters quickly deployed hoselines and began aggressive fire suppression and overhaul operations to prevent further spread.

The fire was brought under control at 4:51 AM and was fully extinguished by 5:19 AM.

AmeriPro Health EMS remained on scene providing EMS standby throughout the incident. AmeriPro EMS 2722 transported one patient emergent to UofL Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

This morning at 7:10 AM, your Floyds K***s Professional Firefighters responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of HWY 150 & Barry Lane.

Crews arrived to find two vehicles involved, with two patients needing evaluated. Firefighters quickly secured the scene and checked both occupants for injuries. Highlander Squad 3 evaluated both patients on scene and obtained two signatures of refusal.

We would like to remind motorists to stay alert while traveling through busy intersections and to always watch for emergency vehicles and responders operating on scene. 🚒🚑
