🖤🩶🤍💜 It’s Ace Week, October 25–31!

This week, we celebrate asexual people and raise awareness of the many experiences within the ace community. Asexuality describes experiencing little or no sexual attraction, and every person’s experience is their own.

Ace people are part of our 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Your identity is valid, your relationships are yours to define, and you belong at Pride. 🌈

Let’s keep learning, challenge stereotypes, and make room for every way of being ourselves.

On International Pronouns Day, we’re celebrating a simple way to help people feel seen: using the names and pronouns they share with us. 🏳️‍⚧️💜

A few everyday reminders:
✨ Don’t assume someone’s pronouns based on appearance.
✨ Offer your own pronouns if you’re comfortable, without pressuring others to share.
✨ If you make a mistake, briefly correct yourself and keep practicing.

This month, we honor the activists, artists, organizers, and everyday people who have helped our 2SLGBTQIA+ community live with greater visibility, dignity, and pride.

Here in Northern Arizona, that history lives in the friendships, advocacy, and spaces of belonging our community continues to build. We celebrate those who paved the way and the voices shaping what comes next. 💜🌲

Our stories matter. Our history matters. Our Pride continues all year.

Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Flagstaff Pride honors the histories, cultures, sovereignty, and continuing contributions of Indigenous peoples. 🌎

We celebrate Indigenous members of our community, including Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ people, whose voices and leadership are essential to Pride in Northern Arizona. 💜🌈

Let’s make respect an everyday practice: listen to Indigenous voices, learn about the Native Nations connected to the places we call home, and support Indigenous artists, businesses, and community-led work.

🕯️ Remembering Matthew Shepard

Today, we honor Matthew Shepard, who died on October 12, 1998, following an anti-gay attack. We remember his life and the lasting work of his family and the Matthew Shepard Foundation to replace hate with understanding and compassion.

His memory reminds us that everyone deserves safety, dignity, and the freedom to be themselves. 💜

Here in Northern Arizona, we can honor that legacy by challenging hate, supporting one another, and making belonging part of everyday life.
