On Saturday, May 16th at the Grand Haven Golf Club, UWF honored our 2026 Scholarship recipients and their parents at a luncheon. We were overwhelmed with the success each student has already achieved and eagerly listened as they told us what their plans for the future are. We are so proud of these accomplished, mature and elegant women! UWF installed its newest slate of Officers for the upcoming 2026-27 fiscal year on Saturday, May 16th at the Grand Haven Golf Club. Pictured below are (left to right): Edda Steinmeier, Assistant Treasurer; Janet Schipper and Susan Wildman, Recording Secretary; Dale Curran, Scholarship Co-Chair; Robin Hall, Membership Co-Chair; and Pat Rhodes, Co-President. Those officers who were unable to attend on Saturday included: Susan Moeser, Co-President; Trish Le Net, Membership Co-Chair; Pat Malak, Scholarship Committee Co-Chair; and Jo Dervan and Rosemary Zattiero Recording Secretary. We wish all the Board members continued success in the coming year!

The journey to award scholarships continues the next day...On Thursday, May 7th, the Scholarship Committee visited the homes of two Matanzas High School seniors: Stephanie Ibarra Carreon and Liliana Lisowski. Congratulations to all of our new Scholarship recipients. We look forward to seeing you on May 16th for our Scholarship Luncheon at Grand Haven Golf Club!

Last evening, May 6th, the Scholarship Committee of UWF, chaired by Dale Curran and Pat Malak, jubilantly honored this year's scholarship recipients at their homes, as they announced that each of the four Flagler Palm Coast High School students received a $3000 award. WIth pom-poms in hand, we clapped and cheered for Aiyana Cayetano, Zenirah Nonord, Kalista Chadwell, and Aasi Bharucha. We will honor these amazing young women again at our May 16th Scholarship Luncheon. Congratulations to all!

On Saturday, April 11, we were delighted to welcome Renee Swaggerty, Executive Director of the Flagler Technical College, as our General Meeting speaker. Lots of questions after a very action-packed talk with plenty of updates, including one of their newest programs about to launch: aeronautical maintenance and repair at Flagler Executive Airport.

The next agenda item was the presentation of the second annual UWF Spirit Awards, which are given to three UWF members who have shown especially strong capability for getting things done, running events and committees, and generally being very loyal examples as UWF members. Co-Presidents Robin Hall and Trish Le Net presented the 2026 awards to Jane Mealy, Jo Dervan, and Kay Forest. The joy on their faces in the pictures below tells the story of this proud moment!

UWF was busy last week as the Non-Traditional Grant Committee, headed by Janice Nickol, delivered $2000 checks in Flagler County. This article appeared in the Palm Coast Observer - thank you!

"The University Women of Flagler County presented checks of $2,000 on March 31 to Flagler Technical College, the Family Life Center and the Alpha Center. This funding assists women from each of these organizations to pursue their education.

The UWF raises thousands of dollars every year to support education for women in Flagler County. It will present five traditional college scholarships next month to female students in Flagler County."

According to Kay Forest, our Chairperson, the UWF Spring Day of Games was a Great Success on Friday, March 27th! The PCCC was chock-full of attendees who gave rave reviews about the delicious food, the smooth organization, and the fun they enjoyed throughout the day. And we are so glad they had such a grand time!

A project of this magnitude could only be accomplished through the dedication and support of the many volunteers of the University Women of Flagler.

Thank you to all for your attendance, or hard work, your time, and your many talents. Because of our members and wonderful attendees, this event was such a great success. Congratulations and heartfelt thanks on a job well done!
