Our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, was just named vice chair of the National Governors Association for the 2026 midterms. That means a woman will serve alongside Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear as a top fundraiser, adviser, and national messenger for candidates.

According to First American Financial Corp., the number of single female homeowners reached an all-time high last year with a record 20 million single women owning their own homes. Considering the Equal Credit Opportunity Act that allowed women to obtain loans, mortgages, and credit cards without a male co-signer, essentially marking the end of formal financial restrictions on women buying homes, was passed as recently as 1974, this is great progress.

More women are living on theiir own, and many are buying homes while doing it. 🏡
