HOW IT’S DONE ✨

Every iced coffee in our café is a hands-on learning moment. Our students are building real barista skills, confidence, and independence with every drink they make.

When you stop by for your favorite cold brew, you’re supporting meaningful work experience for young adults with learning differences and helping create a community where everyone belongs. 🤝☕️

Did you know you can sponsor students through ongoing monthly support? Our independent students are 100% funded by private donors, meaning we literally could not have them in this program without you!

Most people understand the disabilities they can see.

They offer a little extra grace, have a little more patience, and make room for things to look different.

But when it comes to the disabilities we cannot always see, things like SPD, PDA, autism, dyslexia, ADHD, mental health challenges, TBIs, and more, people are often quicker to judge. We place expectations on people that do not belong. We make assumptions without really understanding the person in front of us. We decide what someone “should” be able to handle without knowing what they are actually experiencing.

Over time, that can make people with unseen disabilities feel like they do not belong, not because they are wrong, bad, or not trying, but because the world around them often does not understand what daily life can feel like.

Place yourself in their shoes for one minute.

Imagine if a normal tone of voice felt like 👆🏻 this all the time. Someone simply says, “Hello, how’s it going?” and your body experiences it as too loud, too sharp, too much.

If that was your reality, how would you cope? How would it feel if you needed to step into a quiet room and someone judged you for it? How would it feel if you asked someone not to yell, even though they did not think they were yelling, and instead of trying to understand, they raised their voice even louder?

How would it feel if someone called you “dramatic” for reacting to something your nervous system was truly struggling to process?

Unfortunately, these are regular experiences for many of our students, and this is why understanding matters.

Just because someone’s world feels, looks, or works differently than ours does not mean it is wrong. When we strip away all the extras, most of us want the same things: to be accepted, understood, safe, independent, happy, and given opportunities to succeed.

THAT is the message and mission we are trying to help the world understand. Continued in comments 👇🏻

Finding a place where you or your child feels like they belong can feel impossible. Finding a place where they are not only welcomed, but embraced, supported, and given real-life experience can feel even harder.

We believe every young adult deserves a place where they feel welcomed, supported, and known. A place where they can grow at their own pace. A place where they are given tools to build confidence, independence, and skills for the future.

Through our program, students have opportunities to learn customer service, responsibility, communication, teamwork, financial education, and real-world work skills in a community-supported environment that meets them where they are.

Families are not alone. Every cup, every shift, and every act of support helps create space for student growth and confidence in action.

If you've found yourself late at night, desperately googling something similar to this, reach out or visit us in person to see what we are all about!
